@Kevadu: We must be related on a genetic level, I have a baby tooth that had no adult replacement as well. Worst part is it's dead center on my bottom row of teeth. So I have a this little fucker sitting at the end of a row of teeth, then a gap before 2 more teeth which grew to the left due to the lovely unclaimed space, another smaller gap, and the rest of my teeth. The baby tooth is still there, lovely and chipped on top from getting punched in the face as a kid (which also broke one of my upper molars on the left side...a whole different horror story). Thanks for the heads up on the cost, as I wasn't sure if I'd ever deal with it. Now I know I can safely say FUCK DAT NOISE.

Semi regular gym visits still, generally 3-4 days a week. Due to horrible heat wave #4 this summer season my desire to walk 1/2  a mile each way to the gym has dwindled so I have been skimping on visits or taking a bus. Sad times :(

Agent D.:

Well, you should really talk to people for a better estimate.  For one thing I'm getting two implants, a single implant would obviously be cheaper.  And about $7,000 of my total is orthodontics, but you may or may not need as extensive orthodontics as I'm getting (and I don't think the price for that really gets any higher than what I'm getting...).  My first visit to the orthodonist when they evaluated what to do was actually free (the first one's always free...), so there's not a lot of harm in getting an opinion.

There are also cheaper options like a bridge or something, but I didn't want to do that.  If you can afford it, implants really are the best.

Just because that tooth has held in there so far doesn't mean it's going to be there forever.  Baby teeth aren't supposed to be permanent and they just don't have the root structure of an adult tooth.

I got braces today...and I'm in my 30s.  I thought only kids did this...

This is just step 1 in a long, involved plan for me to get dental implants.  See, I'm missing teeth genetically.  I actually had the baby teeth but no adult teeth...and one of my baby teeth finally came out after hanging on far longer than it was ever really intended to (with nothing to push the baby teeth out they just kind of stay in there).  So I started looking into implants, but since I only ever had baby teeth in this spot, there isn't actually enough room for implants.  Hence the need for orthodontics.  But wait, even though the missing teeth are on the bottom it seems that they would collide with my top teeth too if I had implants there, so I need to do orthodontics on the top as well.  It's going to be like a year and a half before I can actually get the implants that are the objective of this whole thing...

BTW, the total cost of all the orthodontics, implants, etc. is estimated to be about $17,000.  My insurance company is covering approximately...$0.  Joy.

Kev, despite your age, I'm gonna tell you what my momma told me when I got braces when I was 12.

Just think that once you get them off, you'll have movie star teeth! :D

Unless he smokes or drinks tons of coffee or tea :)

I got a sweet $4k raise at work.

Sometimes people get me one of those expensive-ass boxes of pears from Harry and Davids. And I really have no desire to eat that many pears, but, you know, they're expensive, I feel obligated, and they're only good for about a week (and you get like, ten).

I really hate throwing edible food out because it goes bad, but it's inevitable when people force fruit on you.

Freeze them bitches and throw 'em at trains.

Three cheers if you made it all the way through!

Funny you say that.

I got pegged at customs for the first time. I was sweating bullets because I had four seasons of Doctor Who, some Futurama and some Radiohead on my laptop I had downloaded the night before to listen to on the plane. I figured I was going to get fined for pirated content, but then they told me they were just checking for things like child porn and I breathed a sigh of relief. Although I was annoyed after because I don't think I look like someone who would carry that garbage. :(

Also, Kevadu - braces are hell when you have them, but they feel awesome when you get them off.
I noticed the guys laughing while going through my computer and couldn't figure out why until I went over and one guy told me he thought my backdrop is cool (It's the Call of Cthulhu) and he called his coworker an idiot for not knowing what it was. His coworker responded with "Nerd". I refrained from calling anyone names since they all had batons.

Was gonna go to the Ann Arbor art fair with my mom on Saturday but it's still gonna be really hot so we're skipping it. I have no idea if I really wanted to go or not. I don't really but art from art fairs 'cause it's too expensive and it's... nothing I'm interested in. I like Ann Arbor as a city. Also if we went there I'd have been tempted to force a conflict I'm not sure I want to force but I probably need to.

Fuck I have no idea I'm pretty sure she was siding with the cop in the Trayvon Martin case and I'm not sure I want to be around her right now anyway.

Not sure I wanted to be in the car that long anyway. Disappointed out of breaking a tradition? I guess but I was just in Ann Arbor in May and like really I'm more interested in the music stores there I guess. Columbus' music stores are really hit and miss. I mean as much as I shop at Magnolia Thunderpussy their selection sort of blows unless you want new stuff. Hell even Finder's in BG was better. Not that I remember college.

Sock randomly fell out of my pants at work today. No idea what the fuck that was about. Did I just stuff a sock in my pocket for some reason? More importantly why didn't it fall out during the mile walk from the bus stop to the office?

Had this fucked up recurring dream that Mark Hamill, Zoey Deschenal, Larry Ellison, and a bunch of other celebrities died in a plane crash on the way to some symposium. I even dreamed that I THOUGHT it was a dream, then got up, in the dream, and Wiki'd it and found out it was true. But it was all a dream.

--- edit ---

Made the mistake of reading a Gamefaqs forum for some... game remake, whatever, have the threads were just people complaining about how bad the remake was 'cause they changed some character's hair color.

It's like the guy at Gamestop complaining about the dude's hair in SMTIV -- saying he'd never buy the game because of the jerry curls. And it's like shit dude I know you're trying to make conversation but stop fucking trying I don't caaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaare.

And I went over to ysutopia for... some reason, I have no idea. The admin's gone nuts*. It's beautiful.

This is why I never want to make games.

Did a midterm and ran errands all day.

Drunk, drawing, watching movies and playing games. ALLL AT ONCE.  Just kidding, but yeah, all three are happening, two at a time.

Canada is well known for cracking down on all that Child Porn. It's too bad you had to endure that, but I'm happy to know they don't care if you pirate stuff. Are you sure you don't have a Pedophile mustache or something? Maybe it's because you had a stop over in Japan?

My Day was weird. I went to meet a friend I haven't seen in over a year and he told me to meet at Second Cup  - a coffee shop. I waited an hour for him and he didn't show and I needed to go to the washroom, but didn't want to ask for a key so I left and ducked into a nearby Starbucks & Chapters combo. While I was there, I find the bastard I was waiting for. He was waiting at the Second Cup IN Rideau Mall while I was waiting in the Second Cup ON Redeau street. That was very stupid, but catching up was fun and I had Swimming Rama for the first time and it was delicious.
