Back in Phoenix.
Training for a new promotion... which is a great thing. The down side is it has me staying in Phoeonix for 12 days, then 2 at home, repeat until Thanksgiving.
Annoyances: Flew in yesterday and the hotel I was set to be in wanted to charge me $15/night for net (which I need for work) and put a $50/day hold on my personal debit card on top of $140/night for a room. With the 60+ nights I'm staying until the end of Nov... they're getting $8,000+ of room rentals from just me. There were 3 of us staying here for that length of time, all in separate rooms. $24,000+ in room rentals.
Last trip there were no issues, comp internet, and no mention of personal cards. This trip they hit us with the net thing and then when the first of us went to check in they asked for her personal card for incidentals... which was declined, because they tried to put a hold for $600 ($50/day x 12 days) on for incidentals and she didn't have it. I sent an email to have the company update info to accepting the hold for that and refax the authorization form so we could check in. An hour later, no fax. Called corporate and was told it had been sent. Asked at the desk and was told their fax machine had been down all day. WTF? Why not tell me that an hour ago?
Got pissed, called and had us rebooked to a place on the other side of our daily training point. New place is $80/night with comp internet and free breakfast, dinner, and cocktail hour. The first place lost over $24,000 in room rentals on this trip and was blacklisted by a company that holds this type of training almost continually. lol.
Happy things: Rental place was out of full size when I showed up so I got bumped up to a 2014 Mustang convertible that they just got in the night before for this 12 day stay. Not bad. Also brought my PS3 this trip and managed to disable OnCommand hotel BS and change inputs. I have 3-4 hours a night and a day off in the hotel free, and Phoenix is hot as hell, so plan is to unwind by grinding the hell out of Graces and Disgaea 4.
