Whenever I see comments on the internet like "I have never had a girlfriend before but I would treat her so good, and cherish her always", I feel emotions halfway between "aww, isn't that naive" and "your lack of self awareness upsets me."

oh god yes to this and the way this can extrapolate to a few other topics as well.

I also hate when I hear from a couple "We've never-ever fought before!"
On one hand I'm like, "good for you!"
On the other I'm just thinking, "just you wait..."

I really need to get out more... I started talking to my rabbit like she's a person. Worst part? She actually seems to listen.

"Sen, sweetheart, mind going back to your hutch?"
*gets up and hops back to her hutch*
"Thank you!"

Stop encouraging my weird behaviour, Senka! D:

Was at my sister's house tonight with a buddy of mine and one of her friends; and she came up with the idea of playing a board game, Battle of the Sexes. Basically, you ask the girls guy based questions and the guys feminine questions. I actually won the game on the greatest possible question ever. They showed a picture of a hairstyle and gave a quick description of it (french for nape of the neck) and due SOLELY to video game knowledge I identified it as a chignon which is what the name of chun li's hair style is called as well as the chinese girl from tekken, Xiaoyu.

Video games have given me the tools to best women in their own fields!

Is that video game knowledge or is that just perving on Chun Li?

I don't remember a part in a Street Fighter game where she explains what her hairstyle is.

In game, no, but it's explained elsewhere. Actually, the more I think about it, I may just be thinking of the tekken lady, though I swear I saw it and chun li somewhere.

She (my sister) got mad when I got a pasta question right, but I got mad because they assumed a guy wouldn't know it. Fucking cappellini is thinner than spaghetti...how the hell would an average woman know that to begin with?

So that game thinks women belong in the kitchen? Nice...

The entire premise is based on flawed sexist assumptions, I'm not too surprised. :P

I'd like to know what some of the "guy" questions were for the ladies. Sports stuff? Because I wouldn't be able to answer that crap. Then again, I didn't know the 2 you mentioned above either. So where does that put me? Hmm.
Tomara, there's no way a game called "Battle of the Sexes" is NOT going to be sexist. It sucks, but that's the point of the game. I'd like to think our world is getting beyond some of that stuff, though. Baby steps, I guess.

I guess that's true. But then the game isn't very good at being sexist, is it? I thought most chefs were male, so culinary questions should be a male category, right?

Anime knowledge works too (thought of you D when I saw this):

A couple of the questions I read were car related; but mostly sports related; which I also have a serious lack of knowledge in. Best ones I can read off were:

Which of these doesn't fit.
Timberwolves
bobcats
lynx
thunder

Answer was lynx because that's the only one that's a woman's sports team. (yes I said timberwolves because I used the logic of the otber three being varieties of cats..thundercats)

What type of poker is also associated with a vertical structural support in a building?

Answer is Stud.

What is the name of the liquid filled car part that keeps.the engine cool.

Answer was Radiator.

Last good one and I only knew it because I used mah brain
How many yards including both endzones is an official football field?

Answer is 120 yards.

Honestly I knew most of the questions just because I read alot and listen to people talk. Sports stuff isn't a strong suit but I don't have to answer those, though the opposing team can call you out and make you answer the question if they don't know it.

I think I like collecting vidya more than playing them :T oh welp.

also that feel when you borrow your mom's android to show her this:

but when you open the browser it's set to whatever porn site your dad was looking at last.

Also are there any RPGs that incentivize the player to play /well/ instead of just adequately?

--- edit ---

Made this. WTF is wrong with me.

And to answer my question from last night, thinking Ys and various Roguelikes.

Had a successful date tonight. Only been dating her for a little over a week. It has been a good week.

Awesome, dagg. Hope things keep going good for ya.

So last night was the ritzy Hospital fund raising party that my wife and I attended with several of my co-workers. WOW, was it fancy! We're talking ice sculptures, ballerinas dancing around, live orchestra playing, the works. I felt so out of place, but so did all my fellow landscapers, so at least we weren't alone.
Food was great, and the open bar proved what a bunch of lushes my co-workers are. I kind of already knew that, though.
There was a live auction for big ticket items like trips to a French Chateau, African Safaris, etc. It's bizarre watching these rich people toss out thousands of dollars on these things, while I couldn't afford 10% of what they're paying. All for charity, I suppose.
Nan looked fantastic, which I really liked, as she rarely gets to dress up like she did. Had to get a new cocktail dress, shoes, etc., of course. I just wore my one suit I own, and looked just fine, thank you very much.
Anyway, it ended up being a good night. I was a tad nervous, so I'm glad it's over.
Now we're stuck going to some Fall party at my Aunt's house today. No rest for the wicked.
