Awesome, dagg. Hope things keep going good for ya.
So last night was the ritzy Hospital fund raising party that my wife and I attended with several of my co-workers. WOW, was it fancy! We're talking ice sculptures, ballerinas dancing around, live orchestra playing, the works. I felt so out of place, but so did all my fellow landscapers, so at least we weren't alone.
Food was great, and the open bar proved what a bunch of lushes my co-workers are. I kind of already knew that, though.
There was a live auction for big ticket items like trips to a French Chateau, African Safaris, etc. It's bizarre watching these rich people toss out thousands of dollars on these things, while I couldn't afford 10% of what they're paying. All for charity, I suppose.
Nan looked fantastic, which I really liked, as she rarely gets to dress up like she did. Had to get a new cocktail dress, shoes, etc., of course. I just wore my one suit I own, and looked just fine, thank you very much.
Anyway, it ended up being a good night. I was a tad nervous, so I'm glad it's over.
Now we're stuck going to some Fall party at my Aunt's house today. No rest for the wicked.
