With all the horror stories of people's laptops dying left and right, I will stick with my trusty desktop thank you very much.

I had an HP laptop that tortured me for two years before giving up the ghost for good.
Found out there was a class action lawsuit against them a month after it was resolved.

I've been using the same HP laptop for five years now with no problems.  It's used practically everyday too...did I just get lucky?

Maybe.  My HP products have worked like butt. :(

I guess downloading The OC, Breaking Bad, The Office, Parks and Rec, Amerian Horror Story, and the complete series of Third Rock from the Sun at the same time didn't help.

What the hell do you people do to your laptops?  I consider a 5 year life to be normal...usually I upgrade because the specs are getting too low, not because there's anything wrong with the laptop.

I have no idea to be honest.

Maybe laptops are homophobic and what to kill themselves instead of watching any more gay porn?

As a long time HP user, let me go on record by saying:

DON'T BUY HP LAPTOPS.

Anything they make shits out its guts after one year, maybe two, tops. Their top-of-the-line ENVY series (one of which I own right now, an ENVY17-3000 back from 2012) was excellent ... until they started switching out the aluminum bodies for plastic ones, which ended up borking just as much as their normal priced laptops.

1. Don't buy HP laptops.
2. With regards to point 1, don't ask me where I work.

I've had my HP laptop for 3 years and it works fine. It is actually the best laptop I've ever had lol. I've had 4 different laptops since I graduated high school in 2007. Average lifespan has been about 2 years or so but this one has lasted 3. Still works great. Now the Dell laptop I bought, THAT was a piece of shit.
