I play bass guitar.  I'm also currently in a socio-political punk band, as yet unnamed.  I think my most recent photo in the photo thread has me with my bass.

I grew up playin' the bass, played in a handful of punk bands.  I sing and play guitar now, in a punk-ish rockabilly band, I've always had a passion for that old early 50's Rock n' Roll =D

You would like the Nekromantix http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aGDn2dwRRvc&feature=related http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wrNaPPDPWCI&feature=related

I've played violin, piano, guitar, saxophone, etc since I was like 3.  My mom is a music teacher, so of course I gravitated towards punk rock in high school.  Take that, mom.

piano for 2.5 decades
bass for a year
music degree in composition and electronic music/production

On my own, I do mostly progrock, but I currently play in two contradance bands, and then gig with my girlfriend doing piano/vocal duo stuff (but lately we've been doing some prog). I have a studio in my cabin, and do a lot of production. I'll be finishing an album with my girlfriend and I in the next few months (been working on it for over a year).

As long as you have an ear for notes, and can tell when you're off, you can get it.  It's a practice thing, like any other instrument really =D
Some people seem to be born with it, which makes the rest of us think we just can't do it.  But keep at it, it gets better.

Yeah I dig the Nekromantix =D and all that good horror punk/psychobilly.  The band I'm in now is a little more traditional.
