Okay, so we've all heard of the many Fallout NV glitches. But strangely, I haven't had too many really noticeable ones, until this one. So I'm in Gomorrah, the dirty sex casino. And during one of the minor side-quests, you find out that one of the helpers is a sadist, and likes to kill women and make snuff tapes for pleasure. So, I killed him and took his closet key. Supposedly, when you get there, you find a dead prostitute corpse and if you examine it, you get additional information on it to appease another character of being charged with the crime. Well, when I opened the door, I was greeted by a live woman prostitute, walking around the room. I go up to talk to her, and the dialog says, "This woman is dead, do you wish to inspect her?" Next thing I know, she walks out the door and starts wondering around the casino.

This just struck me as really creepy, it's like the corpse came back to life and walked around. I know it's just an object-oriented glitch in the programming. Somehow, the program decided that the girl is supposed to be alive instead of dead. But still, it creeps me out.

I do find that creepy.

I probably would've had a jolt if I went into that expecting a body and get a live one when I open the door.

Did you try and shoot her?

Got the PC version thanks to Direct2Drive's price match guarantee and their '1 out of 5 purchases is free' contest (though I lost)... and the fact its DRM is Steam so I can just throw the code in that and not worry about D2D beyond humoring them by downloading the game from them and likely saving Valve a little bit of bandwidth. It's been running mostly fine for me, though I did have it hang on me. Didn't give it long enough to see if it would've gotten out of it, and all I lost was a minute or so of walking anyway.

Also if anyone didn't notice I merged Prime's glitch topic into the main one; that REALLY didn't need its own thread.

Update on my melee/brawl game.

First of all, the perk ignores 15 DT, not 10 (so 5 more than AP ammos or shotgun surgeon)
Power attacks seems to add around 50% DAM
Rob was right about the Ballistic Fist, it destroys everything.

Now for the playthrough:
- Giant Radscorpions are a joke
- Catzadors are a joke even without the +50% damage to insects perk
- Deathclaws hit hard but can be killed in a single power attack with the +50% damage to mutants/ghouls/deathclaws perk
- Deathclaw alpha/mother/exceptional are way too strong to fight in melee (unless you keep stimpacking yourself). With 10 END, buffout and descent DT they would 3 shot me. There's also the problem that their arms are so long they can keep you at bay by attacking you.
- Some areas like the last battle are rather dangerous. If the opponent blocks you, you get stunned for ~3 seconds which is really deadly when you have 5 guys with ballistic fists hitting you. Getting hit by a ballistic fist also stuns you for about 1/2 a second EVEN with the stonewall perk.
- For those places, I suggest using turbos and hitting them in the back/sideway to avoid blocks. The Turbo also makes it very easy to dodge their attacks so you don't get perma stunned by a gang fisting.

Overall, other than rare deathclaws and people with ballistic fists, I was a very easy playthrough.

Sounds good to me.I'm hoping to make my Evil/Caeser's Legion playthrough with High Mele/Unarmed Points.Although Guns has the advantage with the Anti-Materiel Rifle.I LOVE that gun.I mixed UltraJet,Steady and Psycho with Anti-Materiel to bring down Legate Lanius within seconds.Totally worked.

Not true.  I did it solo at level 27 on Hardcore with 6-7 END.  I did die twice, though. The first time was an "oops, I accidentally ran in unprepared thinking it was a normal Deathclaw" moment (I can't be the only one who has these, can I?) and the second was a simply normal death due to stupidity.  To beat them, use every Drug you have. Seriously.  I had about 6 types. Then, if you're on hardcore, fill yourself with healing items of every type. Gecko Steak and Dog Steak are probably what you have tons of, then Stimpack and Super Stimpack and maybe a Healing Powder.  Then use VATS.

It took me 6 hits in VATS to kill the Legendary. I was using Love and Hate and only interrupted one attack from him.

I agree with the rest, though!

Oh, and have the patches actually fixed anything or did they break the game more?
Did they ever patch Veronica's not-leveling glitch?

Actually, that does make sense. I did not use VATS since I hate how it works with melee. The problem about them keeping you out of range is most probably a non-issue with VATS.

Forgive the semi-necro-bump, but I do have a reason!

While expected, Microsoft's DLC exclusivity agreement seems to be ending this month and the PS3 and PC are getting Dead Money at the end of February.  Also, 3 more DLC are planned, this time for all platforms.

Phew, so it was much more mild than Fallout 3's was. Of course cutting off PC for the timed exclusive would do that I guess.

With new DLC coming in a couple of days, I thought it was a good time to resurrect this thread.  I didn't get Dead Money, but I'll be getting Honest Hearts.  The Burned Man and the Utah connection both pull me in as concepts.

I was just thinking about starting on this game again.  My last character was a planned female explosives specialist with extensive speech abilty.. the sexy sleuth that while kissing you plants some C4 on you and robs you blind.  I didnt get very far on her tho because I was burnt on the game, she was my 3rd straight character.

I still think to date this has been my favorite Bethesda/Bioware game (WRPG I guess) since Morrowind. It has such an oldschool flavor to it and to me Hardcore mode is the way the game would be normally if made in the 80s-90s. Its not really making the game any harder, it just makes you think about things more and makes it feel more realistic.

Been thinking about giving the new Fallout a spin. Is it worth hunting down Fallout 3 (I'm only considering the complete edition with all the DLC included) or should I just go straight for New Vegas (much easier to find, but a tad more expensive)?

I prefer Fallout 3 and the game of the year edition with all dlc is a much better buy than new vegas.
I think New vegas improves on fallout 3 in almost every way but somehow isn't as good, if that makes sense.
