and I am yet again bummed by how you just can't save Ridley.
RS is a weird game in the sense that whatever you do, EDIT: on human path, ultimately you fail to do the only thing you wanted to do.

Still, I guess I like the game because of that unique charm of melancholy.

For those that played the whole thing, how do you feel about the end?

The non-human path had her kinda alive, no?

I thought this game went from slapstick to serious in a manner of second... it really bummed me out and made me hate it that much more.
The battle system was lacking, and while the world was charming, there was far little going on, and the 24-minute days just made me feel too much like "same shit, different day".

This game had way more potential IMO.

Anyways - play Nier or Drakengaard if you want to counter the ending-blues with something even more depressing.

Is there any choice where you can kill Ridley? If so, I'd pick it up in a heartbeat.=)

I've only beaten it on non-human side since each time I feel like I should
and I'm pretty sure she survived that ending
it trying to be "serious" made it feel like it was trying to develop its serious plot all at once since most of it is quirky
it also had a semi-cliffhanger ending that made me a little confused
besides that, it was excellent :D

*Youtubes fairy ending*
Oh wow, she lives... man, the gap between my second game and third was so long that I had completely forgotten.
But Gantz died in that one =(

It's was a big dramatic opera by the end... and what do you expect in an opera but a sad ending?? :P (generalizing)

I think worst of all, the absolute poo-poo ending, the Human Path, contains arguably the better characters.  Nice low blow thar.

Yeah, I hate the fairy path because all the recruitable characters are awful compared to Elwen, Kain and Nyx.
Miranda, which isn't even an ultimate character trumps every single fairy path healer =/
