Uh oh, should I bring a box of tissue with me when I'm playing FFX just in case?
Depends on how manly you are :P
I'm a total wuss, so I cried first time I played it.
I was 10 though...

Lol, okay. XD
I just feel so engrossed in story of FFX, whereas I don't get that from MMOs. I feel like I'm really involved in the story and I cannot wait to see how plot turn out. :D

Meh, I was 20 when I finally got around to playing it. ;)
It might have teared me up.. a bit. But I've bawled more over other games.
Wow that was kind of embarrassing to admit.

It's been awesome keeping up on Shogun while he pops his RPG cherry.
Not all RPGs will draw you in though. You should probably skip DQ8 for now and head for another one with an interesting setting as well.

All right, just arrive at the village which was ravaged. I got to see fantastic cut scene with Yuna performing "The Sending". I have to say she's uber smexy. :D
Enter the forest and the battles in it are nasty. I virtually have zero potions left. :( I just hope I can find the merchant that sells the potion somewhere in this area because I really need it. Just arrive at the temple so we'll see how it unfolds. :)

Ah, Final Fantasy X... I remember seeing this game for the first time, it left a lot of gamers with the O face for weeks. The first hours of the game are pretty damn good too. I've never finished the game though but I watched the ending on YouTube just because I had forgotten what to do in last save file I left.
After playing the game for a long time, I was unable to go back and finish this "cinematic experience with a battle system" (yeah, that's what Final Fantasy X is for me). Overall, I just remember this from the game: Great battle system, great soundtrack, I hate Blitzball a lot more than Final Fantasy VIII, Lulu's boobs are beyond awesome and his design is ridiculous, I want to be like Auron when I get older, Seymour was a compelling antagonist
in theory
, the story could have been better and
HAHAHA!!
(the Japanese scene is even more awkward than the one we got, amazing stuff).
...oh yeah and the Thunder Plains! What an awesome place. That's one of the few times that I enjoyed grinding in an RPG (I grind like a motherfucker in MegaTen games though, so addicting). Really, is not a bad
game
, but it left me with a bad impression over the years. Like, they have all this good ideas that worked well and all in the game (at that time anyway) but there was so much more potential for a more exciting story and what not.
But eh, later I played X-2 and I enjoyed that game a lot more that Final Fantasy X. At that time, I was just pleased about the fast-paced battle system. Everything else was stupid or annoying, but for some weird reason the story makes sense in that game.
After that, I stopped playing Final Fantasy games (I wonder why /sarcasm). Versus XIII, you are the last hope for Square Enix.

Oh sweet!
I got nice package that arrived earlier today.
I got Kingdom Hearts along with FFX, which I just start to play.
Final Fantasy Chronicles, Final Anthology, and The Legend of the Dragoon are the ones I got today. I was drooling when I open the box today, lol.
I spoke to my friend that I'm getting into RPGs and he gave me some of the games since he's mostly play XBox and PS3 stuff. I got Final Fantasy 7 and 9, Disgaea: Hour of Darkness, and Persona 3 and 4. I feel like a kid on Christmas Day, lol.
He also gave me Grand Theft Auto 3, Vice City, and San Andreas. He said that they're pretty easy games so I dunno about that.
Yay!

If you think Yuna is smexy now, you should look at her design in FF10-2.

maybe i shouldn't have told you that, since most people have had a negative reactive to nearly everything in that game being redesigned :(
I felt compelled to start a new game yesterday for no particular reason besides reading you talking about it and got to about exactly that last point you mentioned
I'm curious to know which battle system out of those games you have that you will like most

Final Fantasy X-2 is easily my least favorite Final Fantasy game. That's not to say it isn't a quality title I just don't like the direction they went with it.

There was something about FFX-2 that I did enjoy, and that was the costume changing mid-battle. A nice touch.

I heard that FF X-2 is pure fan service game. I was talking to my WoW buddy last night about FF series and he commented that I should give FF X-2 a go but I dunno because I have lot of games here. Plus, didn't they made X-2 because many fans didn't like the ending of FFX?

FFX-2 It felt more like an expansion pack to me. I'm sure I finished the game in less than 15 hours!
Well you have plenty to play already, and FFX-2 isn't really a 'must play'. Just make sure you enjoy FFX (which you are by the sound of things!)

Yes, the same happen with Persona 3 in Japan (true story). About X-2, the end credits of the game said that the game is "by fans, for fans" if I remember correctly. This is the kind of game you play
at least
two times and later you move on with something better.
The battle system is the only real reason to give the game a chance.
