In spite of what politicians do preach about the alcohol-accidents correlation these days, they're not exactly enforcing prohibition. This guy is cool and all but the whole 'drink more beer' thing doesn't impress me. Leaders probably do want people to drink more beer, it helps keep the population happy. Kinda. :P

Don't see how this is any different from stupid American ads that have boxom women in them that have nothing to do with the product.
I also like to point out that personal hobbies really shouldn't have anything to do with your leadership skills, but we take that into consideration more than we like to admit when we choose government officials in the US. I would- dare I- say it's better the way Japan doesn't seem to give a shit...though to be fair, a certain President around here hasn't been ridiculed for liking comic books.
