I love NIS America.  The people that they employ are absolutely fantastic.

That being said, this game looks like a goddamn travesty.

What's with the facepalm? I'm excited about this. :) Here's the official announcement. Here's some gameplay footage as well.

It's still Idea Factory, though.

It certainly won't be Segagaga that's for sure.

Guys, don't be too harsh. It's definitely a game aimed at little girls. We're not in that demographic so we shouldn't judge.

I think you have misjudged the target demographic greatly.  Busty anime-styled girls who are video game consoles that the publisher/developers are referring to as "goddesses"?  This target demographic is 13-??? males without significant others.  It looks awful.  And it's Idea Factory, which fills me with nothing but hesitance and shame.

Even should the game end up being somewhere decent, I will quote The Simpsons:

"Dad.. I feel... what's the opposite of shame?"  "Pride?"  "No, not that far from shame."  "Less Shame?"  "Yeah."

Also, Neal, I do wish we'd gotten Segagaga here.  Sigh.

I can speak much for it's original aim but I think it will mostly appeal to anime fans and JRPG fans with it's US release much like the Trinity Universe and Cross Edge did. I'm not too surprised by their reaction since neither Trinity Universe or Cross Edge were well received. At any rate I'm excited about this. :)

I enjoy Compile Heart games, so I'm interested.

I wouldn't go as far as to say they're "good," but there's no reason to completely hate on the game if you're not interested in it.  Let those who are interested discuss it.

I want to agree with you, but the freaking OP is a double facepalm.

I hope I am proven wrong and the game turns out to be good, but Idea Factory still has a lousy track record.  Can anyone name an Idea Factory game that was actually good?  Not merely mediocre (at best) but truly good!  Sure some !F games have intriguing concepts, but turn out to be bad games.  Neptune is one of those games that actually has a semi-original concept, but this is Idea Factory so there's a strong chance they'll screw it up like they've done before because they don't always learn from their mistakes.

I wanted to give the benefit of the doubt to HitMaker at one point.  A Witch's Tale and Last Rebellion (which was a collab with NIS) had some decent ideas, but both were bad games, plain and simple.

I wouldn't take the reactions here too seriously since it's evident many aren't interested. On that note, I wonder if they are going to release a special edition with extras.

I thought Aedis Eclipse: Generation of Chaos was quite good.

I will agree that Idea Factory come up with some interesting ideas but kind of mess them up.

So this is the result of NISA's new policy of doing fewer, higher quality titles?

Fuck this game.  The cutscenes alone are more than enough to turn me off.  More girls doing stupidity.
-The older big-breasted girl who's got the IQ of a block of wood and speak life as softly as a flute
-The younger smart-aleck/tough-cookie
-The Young 14-16 year old who act like she's isn't a day over 7.
-The tough, but soft girl

Featured in...
-Pantsu jokes
-Breast jokes
-Other pointless and meaningless squabbles.

What I saw of the gameplay was repetitive, grind-y, and lengthy. This is a definite pass for me.  I don't even think there's one worth it guy in the roster to counter the "moe" factor.

One of NISA's employees stated that that policy was for the development of titles, NIS Japan only.  NISA is free to do whatever they wish.
