I think I screwed SMT1 up

Hey guys.  So I've been playing Shin Megami Tensei I and enjoying the hell out of it.  I've been trying to take the neutral path through the game, with a few fluctuations here and there, I've managed to stay neutral for the most part.  Now, I got lost in Shinagawa, so I checked a walkthrough for the part I needed.  I found it, but I also noticed something that said if you go into the center room on the third floor of Shinagawa you'll either get a boss fight if you're chaos, or be locked into the law path.  I checked my alignment and it did swing be to law.  Am I really locked into the law path/ending? Or can it be fixed.

haha! Thanks for the bump-age =D  Been lookin' around for awhile and can't find a concise answer, but apparently there's an alignment shifting mini-game, I hope that works.  The way this game is, the law path is the more evil side, at least in my opinion.
