Unnecessary?
Old fashioned?
Did you get tired of this genre?

Yes.

We do not think so!

Fuck.

No on all accounts for me. Awesome to hear it isn't going away anytime soon.

Now if we can just get home console turn-based JRPGs back in force again, I will be a very happy camper.

Only if they learn part of why those went out of fashion! Notably: speed up animations and keep battles speedy, and kill loading as much as reasonably possible.

Also, less obvious invisible walls and barriers in almost every environment ( Rogue Galaxy).

Yes to everything. JRPGs blow. I'm looking forward to Disgaea 4, but it's a SRPG and probably won't be that good. Still like it though!

Why does it feel like their is an election coming up and the two main parties are JRPG and WRPG?

That ad made absolutely no sense to me.

As much as I like JRPGs that keep things interesting(anything SMT, Nier to an extent), part of me occasionally likes to dive into old school games like Wizardry and Etrian Odyssey.

'Those jrpgs sure SUCK ASS amirite?'
'We respectfully disagree'*Leaves room*

If I were hypothetically on the fence here that video would just lean me away from the jrpg side. After trashing your product that's not the time to end with a teaser. Now you've got to tell me why jrpgs are great or why yours is special and stands above the others.

It made me laugh because it sounded like it was translated into english with bad translation software.
It also worked on me since it made me really curious to find out about it.

I have no idea what I just watched lol.  It's not really a game teaser, there's no production company mentioned. Hell, it doesn't even confirm that its' about Japanese role playing games.  For all I know it's an ad for Japanese Ready Produced Granola.

All that aside, I like a nice cliche JRPG.  I like games that change things up with wild and crazy things too, but uninnovative old school JRPGs are comforting to me.  I like 'em for the same reason I like Friday the 13th movies, I liked the first one I watched and I was in luck because every new installment is basically the same movie with new people and couple things changed around.  Of course I realized they just rehash the same old stuff, but it's fun if you don't take it too seriously.
