What christmas or "holiday" movies do you like?
I can only think of a couple right now that I really like:

Scrooged
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TeIOfXB5EVk
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LvS12J4VpHg

A Christmas Story
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jp-BN9skTP0
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=46WcFObgYhI
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HW4IZ0Flh3M

A lot of christmas movies seem to have a "good message" tacked on and feel gimmicky.
do you have any favorites?

I almost mentioned Gremlins and Home Alone, but forgot :(
I saw a few parts of Love Actually, and one particular deleted scene stood out as being amazing.

It'd be a good scene to confirm my suspicions in some scenarios...
And to know when to run the other way haha

A Christmas Story without a doubt.  It's the "You'll shoot your eye out" movie.  I also like the classic Rankin and Bass Rudolph movie with Hermie the elf who wants to be a dentist.  And, of course, A Charlie Brown Christmas.

It's a Wonderful Life
A Christmas Story
Scrooged
National Lampoons Christmas Vacation
Gremlins

That's my top 5, in order more or less.

Home Alone, Love Actually and The Nightmare Before Christmas (which - as I have argued about this many a time - really should count as a Christmas movie, even if it's also a fab Halloween one!).

Seems to be the same ones over and over.
Love, Actually is very good, but I don't include it in my Christmas movie list.
Should be two lists.
Movies that are actually about Christmas.
Movies that happen to take place at Christmastime but are not actually about it.
Anyway...
A Christmas Story - duh
It's a Wonderful Life - Decent movie, but a bit too long. My wife likes it, so we watch it every year.
Scrooged
Christmas Vacation - duh. Although, my enjoyment has dulled over the years.
The Grinch Who Stole Christmas - the REAL one
Santa Claus is Coming to Town - Man, that redhead. Ms. Claus, that is.

Show that I can't stand:
Frosty - I want to blast him with a flamethrower every time he says "Happy Birthday!"

Same thing with the original Die Hard.  Awesome action movie.  Happens to be set on Christmas.  "Survive Style 5 +" might also fit into that category.

I don't mean to be getting one holiday ahead of the thread, but I've heard of one guy going through the original Star Wars and timing the explosion of the Death Star to be right at midnight on January 1.  I may have to make that a tradition for me and my own starting this year.
