Job thread.
« on: December 05, 2010, 12:59:03 AM »
So what do you guys do for work? Do you guys even work? I sort of have this fantastic vision of most of the RPGFan regulars living in immense crystal towers somewhere, surviving off their family's ancient money gained during the Crusades.

Or something.

I worked as a janitor for the last three years. I also worked a a tutor prior to that. This summer custodial work was actually pretty cool. The custodial staff in my old highschool are fun and endearing people, unlike the people in the building I worked at prior to that, who were complete sociopaths. Anyway, currently not working because i am getting schooled. Also attending classes.

I've been a student my whole life and I don't have a job right now. In University and don't really need the extra money, though I'll probably be doing some part-time (or an internship) over the summer.

I sort of have this fantastic vision of most of the RPGFan regulars living in immense crystal towers somewhere, surviving off their family's ancient money gained during the Crusades.

Not exactly a crystal tower but I used to live on the 25th story of a hotel building back home! That's as close as the resemblance gets though. :P

I am a one day a night working waitress since school keeps me busy otherwise.
I work at a pub where the beer is reasonably priced and we have a $0.40 Wing Night that makes everyone joyous and vegetarians envious.  It's quaint~
I got my stories about retarded drunken idiot customers, and just normal, sober, idiot customers haha

I'm a student otherwise.

My dad designs and builds plastic parts for the military and stuff, so I'm working under him at the moment until I get my life sorted out here. Since I just moved back.

I've worked a variety of jobs including a video game store clerk, a writing tutor for mentally challenged students, a stage hand (I think that's what I was called, my job only involved breaking down the set after a show though, nothing during the show), and a dishwasher.  At the moment however I'm a broke down bum living at home on my mother's bank.  I am a student almost finished with school, but there are problems there and I'm trying to find a job in the meantime that won't make me want to shoot myself.

I finished my schooling 4 years ago and have been working since. I'm a courseware developer and produce online pilot trainings (as in planes).
Not really what I was aiming for in life, but the pay is good and my coworkers are awesome. So I'm just surfing the wave.

As of late, I survey radiation.  People are irrationally fearful of it, and it makes my job more difficult than it needs to be.  No, you can't get cancer from your cellphone.

I worked in a pizza shop for three years. Quit back in the summer. Just a student now. Got 4 more semesters of school after this current one is over (in two weeks.)

I'm a PhD student.  And yes, I consider that work seeing how I get paid for it.
