I am a one day a night working waitress since school keeps me busy otherwise.
I work at a pub where the beer is reasonably priced and we have a $0.40 Wing Night that makes everyone joyous and vegetarians envious.  It's quaint~
I got my stories about retarded drunken idiot customers, and just normal, sober, idiot customers haha

I'm a student otherwise.

I'm quoting myself to add what I saw at work.
We had a resume from the blondest black-haired girl.
Her resume had her headings in hot pick, featured a picture of herself posing and smiling, and she had numerous types riddled throughout... my favorite typo being (since I work at a bar) her spelling of "wine" as "whine".  She'd serve whiiiiiine! haha

Commercial Video Producer / Production Manager at a local NBC station

I make TV commercials for various local clients. I write, shoot, edit, voice, and once in a while even act. It's a fun job since it's creative and I have so many different kinds of things to do. Unfortunately, it doesn't pay too well, is pretty high stress, and I've been terrible at time management (even though I'm technically the manager), though I'm working to change that.

Most advertising or audio/video type jobs typically are low pay/high stress.  The perks are usually there, and it's a pretty funky job too (depending on what).

Sounds interesting even if not the best. =)

I'm more amazed how well off a lot of the people seem to be sounding...

I'm a PhD student.  And yes, I consider that work seeing how I get paid for it.

What are you PhD'ing in?

Did she serve cheese with her whine?

No, you can't get cancer from your cellphone.

Dang it, that's why I bought this stupid thing!

Currently working on starting a eco-tourism business in rural Sumatra, and hope to eventually get into Fair Trade issues as well. Also teach English here.

I have a degree in Horticulture and work for a landscape company as an Estimator. Basically, I'm the guy who determines what a job is worth and how long it takes to install it.
I also plow snow when the need arises.
Our company specializes in seasonal floral displays. Visit Chicago any time of the year, and you'll see a lot of our work, including portions of Michigan Ave. There's always extra, so I get free flowers each season. Trust me, this can be expensive, so it's a nice little perk.

The fact that you're related to this raises you to celebrity status in my eyes ;________; And do they ever do anything at the St. Patrick's weekend home and garden show at Navy Pier..?

I was actually getting a Ph.D. in medium energy nuclear physics, but I fell in love with teaching while getting my MS.  Glad I made the change!

Yes, we give him much credit. His green initiatives have given a lot of companies a lot of work, too. I have a feeling this will diminish when a new mayor takes control.

No, we rarely participate in those shows due to the whole cost vs. return thing not working in our favor. I actually went to the home and garden show last year and was far from impressed. Then again, the show is targeted at homeowners, not those actually IN the trade.
I do always attend the Mid-Am trade show, which is a place for vendors to try and convince guys like me to use their products. Always fun.
