This is a cool thread!! I need to venture outside the "single player" room more often....

I am a tattoo artist primarily but I do alot of other commisioned visual work... Tattooing is just the medium that pays most the bills. I love my job really... while it is quite demanding, there is really no dichotomy between work and pleasure for me in a sense and I've found that is what really equates to happiness....

I had a number of truly grueling and miserable jobs before entering the lovely an twisted realm of body modification.... Baker, Tree Trimmer and even Dildo-Salesman (yes you read that right)...... Life is far more rewarding these days :)

Where do you live? I can check into finding some reputable artists in your area for you... It is very wise of you to be "picky" when it comes to your artist by the way..... Unfortunately the industry is super-saturated at the moment with idiots who have NO BUSINESS WHATSOEVER permenantly rendering anything on peoples' skin.....There are supposed to be regulations and standards however they, unfortunately, are seldom enforced.....

I COULD get a Templar tattoo and get headhunted for the rest of my life.

Or I could get a Paragon on the left somewhere and Renegade on the right side and confuse the shit out of people. =P

Yeah that's the problem. Some are more reputable than others, and like you said, go by regulations more, but I don't know who. I've been recommended places in the Vancouver area but not Victoria where I actually live, and would rather get it done (should I ever need to go back or whatever).

And while we're on the topic, I know this is not the tattoo thread (I'm a bad admin :p) but can someone explain to me the appeal of tattooing people's faces on their body? I've been watching a lot of NY Ink lately, but I had to laugh when the guy got his tat of himself getting hit by a bus.

Easy job, I love it but, it doesn't have much of a future. I might just marry a nurse and just live here forever on that.

Japan rocks though. There are so many problems that just don't exist here due to circumstance.  They get import games a few days late. I did get Skyrim on 11-11-11 tho. I was happy about that.

I used to teach in Nagano.  It's awesome, isn't it?  So easy.  Do you work through a program or are you flying solo?  Of course, I left it for the reason you pointed out--no future there.  I could have been content just teaching the rest of my life, honestly, but my ambitions got the best of me.  Sometimes I regret the move.  I had a lot of friends who became lifers after their JET contract was up (was JET, too).  Also, nice royal assassin avatar!

The district budged screwed me over and now I've been reduced from being a TA (Teaching Assistant) to a Substitute Teacher.  At least I can now work more with the population I work best with- high school students.  A lot of people dread working with high school students, but I love it.  It's elementary (like 3rd-5th grade) that I don't connect so well with.  Middle schoolers can be a tricky bunch too, but are fun sometimes.

The inconsistency of subbing sucks (waking up every day at 5am wondering if and where I'll work today) but I have fun once I'm in the classroom.  Although I went to school to be a guidance counselor, I'm iffy about it because school systems are politically motivated and guidance counseling is 90% administrative crud and maybe 10% counseling at best these days, but I'm sure I'll find my way. 

Ideally, I'd like to be a special education teaching assistant for a Job Sampling or Life Skills class.

Still working as a customer service rep. Have applied out to about 30 other jobs within the company I work for and I have not been hired for one. I keep hoping, but it seems like I will be stuck at this job forever.

So I can't go into detail, but since quitting radioshack, I have done a large number of installation jobs for some pretty fancy places across manhattan and even a couple in connecticut. I'd love to name a few places, but I'm sort of not supposed to, as part of the agreement with my boss doing it. It's been fun, for a job anyway, as I've learned how to make ethernet cables now, as well as find studs in walls barehanded and drastically improved my skill with heavy power tools. Most of the work has been installing sound and home theater systems, as well as a number of wall mounted plasma screen and lcd tvs, but the big job that I mentioned in this thread at one point was the pre-wiring of an entire apartment for smart controls (3 apartments being remodeled into 1 actually). My recent pictures in the photo thread are taken there, matter of fact.

So yeah, anyone here in the new york, new jersey, pennsylvania, or connecticut areas need a home theater installed or a sound system in an office or business should contact me, heh heh.

I work directly for the school board in public schools. It's the best way to teach English. The pay is even better than JET in most cases and I dont have to deal with the commercialism of crappy English teaching schools.

Ya, Nagano is nice. A bit country side for me but, great place. Clean air, lots of nature and people are super friendly. You could live your whole life in Japan. It's Disney land compared to many other places in the world. Disney land with cheap health insurance, healthier foods, thinner women and the best transportation system in the world and - lots of cheap ass alcohol !

I used to be a MTG player. Can't think of a card I liked more than the Royal.
