TBH I'd prefer it if the original voice acting was kept with subtitles, since I love some of the voice actors for the game judging from the trailer.
Great news. Hope we do see this series come to the US.
Edit: A Legend of Heroes: Trails in the Sky OAV is coming out this fall. I'd have loved if it was a whole tv series, but this is still better than nothing. I hope it's good.

I'm not super crazy about the art style, but any Legend of Heroes is good in my book. :)

Cool, thanks! Yeah, the art style didn't seem that great when I first saw it, but it's beginning to grow on me now. Hopefully, if this OAV does well, maybe they'll make a tv series for it. :)

...looks, kinda generic. If the script is just as boring then this will be a horrible project. Why am I getting ahead of myself?? Well, how many video game adaptions are good?

If you count visual novels... then a lot.

Um, yeah, those don't count. Visual Novels to me is one of those genres that isn't a genre.
I'm talking that not too many are actually memorable, nor try to go beyond the source material. No one here is really disagreeing with me either, a lot of "not bads", but I want a "great". I'm not even judging, actually, I've seen a lot of bad ones, I wouldn't mind a good one.

I could list some 'great' ones if visual novels counted. :P

So could I. Why did we arbitrarily decide that visual novels don't count?
That said, I'm not optimistic about this particular project. Looks really bland. And Kinema Citrus doesn't have much of a pedigree...they're pretty new and seem to have mostly done in-between work. That doesn't mean it
can't
be good, but...

Visual Novels aren't really much of a game. They're like big budgeted choose-your-own adventure books. They're books that if they become popular enough, then 9/10 times they get adapted as shows anyway -- like it's almost the end of the line of what they "want" to become.
I'm talking working with more of a source material that involves a bit more action, a bit more of a "game" then hitting just hitting "next".
Arbitrary? A bit... but, I don't know. They just don't feel like proper games, it's quite literally just a "visual novel".
This project does look bland. A bit of a shame, I thought the characters would haveworked really well for something almost "politics" driven... something missing from anime almost entirely nowadays...
.... is it weird this post gave me deja vu?

I'd be impressed if you actually could because usually the ones that don't turn out terrible (Tuskihime, Fate/Stay Night, When the Seagulls Cry) either turn out to be absolutely godawful (ChaosHead) or as bland and generic as the game that inspired it (name any harem anime based on a VN; any one will do).

Obviously some of it is personal preference, but of the ones I've seen I really liked:
Some of my favourites:
-- ef-A Tale of Memories/Melodies [this is my favourite]
-- Clannad
-- Kimi ga Nozomu Eien
-- Air
Some that were good (ie. glad I watched them), but not great:
-- Fate/Stay Night
-- Kanon
-- Higurashi
Some others that I haven't seen, but I hear good things about:
-- Tears to Tiara
-- School Days
-- H2O: Footprints in the Sand
-- Phantom: Requiem for the Phantom
-- Utawarerumono
I'm sure there's at least a few good ones I've never heard of too.

Steins;Gate is good
for "normal" videogames I can only think of Gungrave as actually being good though

School Days needs to be seen if only for the 'nice boat' scene that's in the anime and the nightmares it will cause.
