The history of The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy is now so complicated that every time I tell it I contradict myself, and whenever I do get it right I'm misquoted. So the publication of this omnibus edition seemed like a good opportunity to set the record straight--or at least firmly crooked.

New Tomb Raider to trace the Origin of Lara Croft:

"Developer Crystal Dynamics is working on a new Tomb Raider meant to be an origin story for Lara Croft, the studio said today.

"Forget everything you knew about TOMB RAIDER," said Darrell Gallagher, Head of Studio, Crystal Dynamics. "This is an origins story that creates Lara Croft and takes her on a character defining journey like no other."

The game, they say, will feature the first adventure for a young and inexperienced Lara Croft in a story which "charts the journey of an ordinary woman who finds out just how far she must go in order to stay alive."

'After a brutal storm destroys the boat she was travelling on, a frightened young woman is left washed ashore on an unknown beach. On her own but not alone she has only one goal, to survive'

The game's official site shows that the game will be released for PC, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360. It also shows that Lara might be holding a bow."

I agree - she's looking pretty foxy, even if beat up and as filthy as the Harry Potter kids get in every movie.  I kinda like the more natural look to the make-up packed one or with the chiseled features.  This one is soft!  I'll keep an eye.  If they can make it awesome (never been to keen to the series), I may buy... I've had a thing for action games lately (yeah yeah, basically if they can make Uncharted: ft Lara Croft then I'm good).

Lara Croft...the university years.  Hope the game ends with her finding treasure and spending it on the boob job she clearly gets.

I found a funny post on Kotaku.. someone thought it was a Square Enix *male* hero.  I lol'd, they do look pretty effeminate.

Maybe she doesn't need one. We haven't seen the full design yet ;)

January Cover Revealed

Also, someone said that the game it should be released during the Christmas period 2011.

And holy hell look at this artwork! *wowface*

I'm praying for a limited/special edition with an Artbook. This with Deus Ex 3, Portal 2, and The Last Guardian are my most anticipated games for next year.

That seems like a discarded design from old concept art.

This with Deus Ex 3, Portal 2, and The Last Guardian are my most anticipated games for next year.
Awesome taste you got there. I'd add Project Dark and Journey.

Tomb Raider Game Informer info, the franchise starts from the scratch.

Tomb Raider meets Uncharted meets Metal Gear Solid 3 meets Resident Evil 4?

*gasp* That sounds tempting.

I'm kind of surprised that they keep giving this franchise chances after the last decade of mediocre outings.  Well, the last couple were pretty good but I don't recall them selling all that well. Anyway, that aside, I'm hoping for a stellar game.

This actually has peaked my interest. I remember playing through the first one and a little bit of the second. Haven't played a TR game since then. I like the new look of Lara, and the overall feel. We'll see.

This sounds really interesting. I would have looked forward to a new Tomb Raider regardless of a drastic change seeing as how I enjoyed Underworld and Guardian of Light.

I gotta say I find her new look more interesting than the blow-up sex doll from the original iteration. Even that Anniversary remake of the original failed to grab me, so here's hoping with this one. If it rips off Uncharted, all the better. If they throw in the dinosaurs and mummies and shit, three times the better. For a series that never interested me before, this looks like the tits (and not Lara's, ha hahahaaahaaahaa haaa).
