Why is there not a thread for this game already?

I'll admit I'm not the biggest Rockstar fan and I haven't been following this game very closely, but I just read this preview at Joystiq and suddenly my interest level is quite high.  This game sounds very different than the kind of game Rockstar is known for making.

I'm interested. This really is the first rockstar game that has caught my attention. It seems to be their first game in which their main goal is drama and presentation. As a big film noire buff, I'm excited. However, noire is one of those genres that can easily be screwed up, and without caution can become incredibly derivative and cliche. I believe that if adhered to by the letter, it can be quite cheesy, but if used as a backdrop for a more intense drama, can be amazing. For instance, when watched for pure artistry (and not nostalgia), the Maltese Falcon isn't a great film. However, the altered neo-noirs such as Chinatown and The Third Man, not to mention Blade Runner, are brilliant.

I haven't seen gameplay yet, but I hope to high heaven that they get away from the same map, health meter type thing all the GTA games had.

That kind of made me LOL in RDR. Here you are in a beautifully realized Western environment and WHAM, cheesy health meter and map in the bottom. Could've done that differently

Every single character's facial model looks phenomenal, except for the MC.

From all that I've read about it, this has nothing resembling any meters like most games have.
I saw something in a magazine with someone talking about videos of it being all cutscenes but someone told them that it is gameplay.
It seems to be a 2011 equivalent to Heavy Rain.

Which would make me happy.  I'd love another Heavy Rain... just sans some of the minor everyday movements (seriously, control for opening a door??)

I wish people still dressed like that. That's when men were men and women were women. Now everything is mass produced crap from old navy or walmart.

Walmart and OldNavy make me sick.

I loved the older fashion, there was something quaint about when guys were fellas and girls were gals or dolls.

I'm gonna do the favor of watchin LA Confidential while playing this game.

I'll be drinking bourbon while playing this game.

Hell, I might even take up smoking just to enhance my experience with this game.

Hot fuck, the meticulous facial details when people talk, emote, or lie is amazing!!!
The game looks awesome, and it'll be nice to be playing a rock star game in those classic 1940's cars.  Them are beauties!

Looks fantastic, but I'll be waiting for the eventual "Complete" release with all the DLC.
