Given it's a browser game I actually half wonder if this would belong in Multiplayer RPGs instead. Depends on what later news shows up I guess.

Tsk. Highly doubt it'll come over if it's a PC title then. Was kind of a small miracle So Long My Love even reached here. Maybe NISA will branch out and start taking in PC titles. (Ha.)

Just the fact Gemini's in it would make it a Day 1 purchase. XD

They're going to be, with the rise of indie devs, big companies wanting make games cheaper, Steam rolling in money, and the (hopeful) realization of Japanese devs that their middle ground titles(JRPGs and stuff we like in general) are not dead on consoles, just need to be distributed using a different means.  So things are changing fast.

.....Eh, there's been exactly no news since the announcement which makes me wonder. Either they're hard at work and still in the early stages and/or stuck in the development process.... Or it's been canned. In the favour of a browser game, I sure as hell hope not.

The image (passed along on Twitter) was fake. At the time, I think people were even saying that the blog writer who originally posted the image mentioned that it had been Photoshopped.

Sega's official stance is that while they've seen many requests for Sakura Taisen, they don't think it's profitable enough to pursue......not without outside investment anyway.

Looking at the comments to that post, yeah, it even says in Japanese 'we found a Sakura Wars 'shop'. SE seemed to have missed that in the original blog, apparently...

I'm glad I never wrote an article.
