1.- Golden Sun Dark Dawn (DS)
2.- Battle of the Millenium Chapter 3: Cry Wolf (PC)
3.- Lufia Curse of Sinistrals (DS)
4.- Glory of Heracles (DS)
5.- Fable 3 (Xbox 360)
6.- Dragon Quest IX (DS)
7.- Deadly Sin 2 (PC)
8.- Ys Seven (PSP)
9.- Pokemon Heart Gold / Soul Silver (DS)

NIer and FF13 -- you mind as well, they're a lot cheaper now.

Golden Sun -- cute and simple.  

This year was kinda crap when I look back.

Top title probably goes to SO4 International and Kingdom Hearts: Birth By Sleep for gameplay.
NieR takes the cake for storyline, theatrics and music.
EDIT: (thanks Kevadu1)  Resonance of Fate for a bit of both of the above!!

1.Mass Effect 2 - duh.

I'm only 10 hours into Neir, but I can see it ranking high. Good game so far.
Only played about 4 hours of FF XIII. I actually liked what I played. Not sure if I'll get back to it, though.
Haven't played any other rpgs this year. Too many good games in other genres.

Wait, I forgot what came out this year.

My list:

1) SMT: Strange Journey
2) FF13 (only FF I played from start to...well, I made my brother finish it for me =P)
3) Sands of Destruction (cutesy and worth the $10 I paid for it)
4) Hexyz Force (only a few hours in, though)
5) Pokemon HeartGold (I played it for 5 minutes and was already bored to tears)

Infinite Space for me is certainly #1

also played Hexyz Force, Ys Seven, Ys Oath, ZHP, and Etrian Odyssey 3 which came out this year.  2nd favorite is probably Ys Seven

Wow, I just realized I haven't played any RPGs from 2010. DQIX is on my backlog. I was going to say Devil Survivor and Knights In The Nightmare, but then I realized those were Summer '09.

Oh, ok. Strange Journey was released in 2010. That will be my one and only favorite RPG of 2010! Strange Journey was released in 09 in Japan, not North America. It was released in Oct 2010 here.
