My next 2 and a half months are still payed for, so if anything really interesting goes down, I'll be there. For now, my psp is getting some much needed play time. Poor thing was so out of shape, now it's purring like a walrus again.
I may or may not hop on this weekend, maybe even thursday and friday, but it won't be for extended play, so if I don't come across something to do, I'll be back to free realms....yes I know stop giggling.

The newest update went live, so if nothing else you may want to grab that.

A good chunk of the development team was laid off. This means what little content we were getting per update is going to shrivel up even more. Definitely not extending my subscription beyond the 3 month block I already paid for. Was an incredibly fun ride for the time I played and I don't regret the purchase one bit... but the game has no long-term future.

Obviously anonymous is at fault here, so I will blame them instead.

"The monthly subscription fee means players can expect a lot of new content from us. And I say a lot -- I really mean that. This is something that we feel obligated to the players, because they are paying a monthly sub fee." -John Smedley

Well, i'm making use of the free month now that I know someone else that's playing and i started a new hero on "justice". I know it's not a deep MMO by any standard but there's still fun to be had with PvP.

Has it been 3 months? It feels like forever. My subscription is probably over.
I really liked this game, I will say again.

I just read over at Joystiq that this is finally going F2P at the end of October. I'm surprised that this didn't happen sooner as the game more or less fell flat on it's face. I enjoyed playing it for a few months though so I may re-install it on my PS3 if I can free up the space.

It shipped something like 1M copies initially, which isn't bad - if they can recoup even 1/3 of that userbase as F2P, they should be fine.

Now this sounds very interesting, wonder if it will still require an initial purchase or will the client also be a free download.
