Each new post reminds me I have some other collection I forgot to mention.
Word.
I have a manga collection back home- about two or three hundred strong but I've stopped collecting. I shared the collection with my younger sister. Here's a picture from a few years ago of me and what we could find of our packed manga at the time:
Don't ask me why I'm dressed up as a Ninja, it was a very boring summer.
Also collect books. I have a big collection and probably haven't read about 1/3 of the books I own. Some are packed away, some are overseas, some are sitting on dusty shelves.

I was into collecting anime and manga before, but am mainly an avid game collector, and got more into getting limited editions, and even some less than stellar or crappy games that I am curious to at least try, as long as they are cheap.

I'm usually pretty good at culling unnecessary items, but I do have some stuff that I like to collect.
My girlfriend got me almost a complete set of the new FFVII play arts figues which are displayed on my dresser. I also have 3 of the older, crappy FFVII figures from back in the '90s. We also have some Busou Shinki dolls from Japan (basically robot-girl dolls with a tie-in game from Konami--they're pretty cool looking).
I collect the obligatory video games too, but I also have miniatures in the form of Warhammer 40000 armies (though not a ton) and some Heroscape minis. I 'collect' a bunch of kitchen gadgets, which basically just means I love to cook and tend to accumulate a bunch of things that help me in that endeavor. Lastly I have a small collection of Magic: The Gathering cards.
Most things like books, manga, CDs and DVDs I'll either rent instead of buying, or sell them off when I get bored with them. I do this with videogames too, but less often because I have less money to pump into games that I'm not positive I'll love. My girlfriend also collects some of the same things I do, and has a few Asian ball-jointed resin dolls, so our room is pretty full of figures and stuff. She's more of a pack rat though and that's kept in check by my tendency to get rid of as much unnecessary stuff as possible every couple of months.

I'm kinda poor these days so "collecting" per se isn't really something I do.
I do and have always enjoyed watching my video game collection grow slowly, however. I don't have any pics but I have a semi-impressive collection of NES (pretty much done with this until I find a copy of Kid Icarus and get my Zelda back from my cousin... other than that I have every game I really want), Genesis, PSOne, Dreamcast and PS2 games. Dreamcast games are my favorite to collect, they really crammed a lot of fun games onto that system in its short life span.
My CD collection came to a halt several years ago at like 60. But I still buy vinyl once in a while. I have about 20 records and plan to expand it a lot once I'm living a less ridiculous college life and have more money. I stopped buying CDs once I joined OiNK and What.CD etc., but vinyl is one thing the mp3 has not rendered obsolete in my opinion. I love the big artwork and limited edition stuff.

Even one who is not a fan must admit that is impressive. A+ for neatness

Forbidden Planet is my favorite comic shop in NYC. It's also dangerously close to the company I work for (like a five minute walk).
I found some unpainted Warhammer 40K minis in my old closet while visiting my family and started painting them. If I ever wanted to play this game again, I have a nice starting force that will be painted like my Warmachine army.

I think I sold my entire manga collection (sans Azumanga, and Love Hina) for $30.... I think I paid that much for 2.8 of the comics I had.
I don't really care. Guess it wasn't a hobby after all.... I feel...so empty..... .... ....
I collect...um....
digital
art
..... from...google.

We have a FP megastore in London too, though it's not as close to my flat or hang-outs as I wish. :(
I have a small collection of graphic novels too. My brother collects proper comics but he's mostly into mainstream dc (Batman, Superman, Justice whatever-they-are-now). The only ones I still actively collect right now are "Umbrella Academy", "Unwritten" and "Fables". My other comics are just older TPs.

I forgot I have a huge mountain of Knights of the Dinner Table comics and compilations.
Fucking hilarious. It's nothing but people playing pen and paper RPGs but it's written so well. I'm missing a ton of the series but someday I'll have them all
mwahahahahaha
