OK, the votes are in at RPGFan and we know the results.

What are your predictions for the top 3?

I'll pay anyone who guesses right!

With RPGFan Gil of course.

Mass Effect 2 wins and Nier will probably also be in the top 3, not sure about the other one.

It might be worth considering how far you can go before it doesn't even qualify as an RPG before, but in the case of this year? Among games that actually stand a chance of winning from most places it's a fairly clear choice.

No love for Sakura Wars?

There's lots of great games from this year that no one's been guessing, like Ys, Strange Journey, and (arguably perhaps) New Vegas!

No Strange Journey love is an automatic fail.

The most fun I've had with an RPG all year was Ys 7.  The highest quality RPG I played all year was probably Strange Journey.  So those two.

Mass Effect is the most likely to win though, cuz peeps be liking their WRPGs.

Hard call. There were a fucking load of shit last year in terms of RPGs and RPG like accessories.

Most likely three would be SMT:Strange Journey (because this is RPGFan and RPGFan gives out cream and awards for anything SMT related), Y's VII (awesome soundtracks are RPGFan's second biggest turn-on and the newness of of VII in addition to having more plot edges it out over III), and the last one which is most likely a next gen console game. Most likely either Mass Effect 2, Nier, Resonance of Fate, or Breath of Death VII. It's easily BoDVII simply because it's in house and thus automatically deserves any and all accolades that it can get I'd gamble on Nier since both RoF and Nier have issues with gameplay but Nier's brilliant tale and music just edges out RoF's graphics and silliness. It also helps that Nier came out after RoF and was Caiva's last hurrah versus not just another Tri-Ace travesty.

tl;dr: SMT4, Y's7, Nier.

Comedy Option: Arc Rise Fantasia, Agarest Senki, Cross Edge.

Edit: Motherfucking Shit! I forgot that Persona 3 Portable came out in the states this year too. And because it's both SMT and Persona 3 related one of the other options is automatically wrong since if I know my RPGFan they just lap this shit up like a big, fat, juicy ham sausage. Welp, so long Nier. Brilliant tales and awesome music means nothing in the face of chariot riding female tentacle penis demon gods. Too late to make my change now.

You've misunderstood me. I just seek your death only because you're in the way of my goal of world conquest. I can't help it that I have evil ambitions and am named Dark Lord. Honest.
