I just watched "Never Let Me Go". And I'm throwing it up with the year's better titles. It is a different take on the "love story", and it's extremely haunting in it's dealing with fate and death. Basically it's a story about clones raised as destined, but living, organ donors (after 3-4 donations, you are "completed"; aka clone dies), but takes on the ethics and emotions of the clones themselves. It's not a happy ending - but a curious story. BRR..
I'm sad it was an overlooked title. But Carey Mulligan is proving herself to be an incredibly capable actress, and I look forward to whatever she takes on next.
Been meaning to see this ever since I heard interview on NPR. Apparently it's based on a book by a Japanese author...?

Ishiguro. He's done a ton of work in English/England despite his native Japanese heritage.
This is the first of his I've seen, and a film adaption... but since everyone says "the book is better" I guess there's nowhere to go but up - and I liked the film haha

All of his work is in English. He spent most of his life in England. At the end of the day he is English. His works are definitely worth checking out.

He also wrote "Remains of the Day", you may have seen that film too.
I really liked "Never Let Me Go" so I'm hesitant about watching the movie. Will probably see it anyway.

I want to see Remains of the Day - can't go wrong with the film talents in it.
And going from book-to-movie is usually a self-fulfilling prophecy, especially if you're hesitant about seeing it.

I did not enjoy TS2 that much, probably because of big mouthed joan cussack. But I loved the crap out of 3 for some reason. My eyes got a little watery when they showed the family dog all old and slow.
I pretty much enjoyed everything I've seen at the show this year.
My list
1. inception
2. jackass 3d
3. HP7.1
4. Black Swan
The only clunker was Cyrus. So boring. Too much relationshippy type shit.

Best movie I saw in 2010 was easily How to Train Your Dragon. I love that movie a lot. While they were all enjoyable, most of the other movies I've seen over the last year haven't impressed me as nearly as much as HtTYD. Inception and Toy Story 3 are both up there, though I have problems with both of them. I did see a movie called Flipped that I liked quite a lot; it just had a nice, feel-good story that was good to see. Iron Man 2, A-Team, and Alice in Wonderland were all fun, but not great...and that is all I can think of off the top of my head.

For me the best movie is Inception, I think it as the most original and interisting plot. And the dreams play out take shape are just simply great.
