I'm a huge, huge fan of the 12 Kingdoms anime, and now I'll finally be able to read the books that it was based upon. Now someone just needs to pick up the US publishing rights to the Haruhi Suzumiya and Full Metal Panic light novels.

Don't translations of anime books usually turn out badly? Damn shame :/ Hopefully this is different.

Well, not quite sure what you mean by "anime books". The Twelve Kingdoms was a series of novels to begin with, from which the anime was adapted.

If you're talking about how the translation is handled, I don't see why it should suffer worse than any other Japanese novel.
