Anyone here use this programme?

I need to get some basic understanding of a 2nd language (Polish or Spanish, my choice) and was wondering if anyone had any experiences they could share.

How often and how long did you use it, for instance?

They suck hard. Overpriced, crap method, narrow focus, and just all around godawful products.

As someone who studies languages for fun because I am a nerd, I'd recommend just picking a target language, finding some grammar sites online, working through wikipedia articles or simple news sites with a dictionary, going through the FSI tapes if they have FSI tapes for your target language, and so on.

Do not get Rosetta Stone though it's like a goddamn scam.

I've never used RS before but it has come up in class discussions before (I studied Spanish as a third language and a lot of people in my politics tutorials study or want to study Arabic). The common consensus is as Mesh says: overpriced and crappy.

There are plenty of online resources if you want to study another language and they would probably be more useful to you. I used news sites, movies and basic conversation to keep up my Spanish before. Movies/shows are especially useful if you're trying to learn the rhythm of the language- although this varies with regions and accents. Good luck with your Polish/Spanish efforts! :D

I used Rosetta Stone and it's everything they said.  I was really pissed off too because I was using it in an effort to rebuild some ill used language skills only to find that at Level 3 it was the most basic of stuff.

Buying a dildo with hundreds of spikes would be a smarter investment.

My friend was able to use it for free because of his service in the military, and I tried the beginning Korean levels (way below my level, but wanted to see how the beginning was) and there's no way an adult could learn a language through this program.
