Interesting choices. I much like the selection for FFXIII. But there's a distinct lack of material from FFIX, which never got an arranged album, and ironically is likely the the most orchestral Final Fantasy prior to FFXIII. I would love to finally get a great symphonic "Hunter's Chance" (the Black Mages metal arrangement totally sapped the drama out of the original), or Freya's Theme, among others. The other track I've always wanted to hear in its full orchestral glory would be "The Legendary Beast" from the final boss sequence of FFXIII. Huge orchestral piece, very cinematic with some interesting arrangement techniques.

Also, now that I think about it, why have so much stuff from FFXIII? Most of the pieces listed are fully orchestral arrangements anyway. Sure, they're mostly orchestral synth, but orchestral synth is getting so good that few can tell the difference. Hell, I can't even tell which tracks are synth, and I do synth mockups on a regular basis! I just hope that with the FFXIII tracks, they give us some wildly unique arrangements, like what they did with the FFVIII tracks in the Fithos Lusec album.

Though, all in all, some of those tracks I would die for. Dancing Mad? Jenova? How the HELL are they going to pull off orchestral arrangements of those? I'm intruiged. If you get it, let us know how it stacks up.

It is going to be awhile  before I order it. I was running through my emails and clicked on one those amazon sales. . long story short, I bought too many  cheap $12 anime  boxsets  and with all the rpgs  coming out in Febuary/early March its going to to be while before I get around to buying it.

This reminded me to get Distant Worlds II, a purchase I absolutely do not regret. Yet.
