Yeah, hold the switch for like 3 seconds.

Of course, turning it off still won't make it have battery life like a DS, but it'll help for times when you're not using it.

Another article from Andriasang about the PSP2 with a supposed picture of what it looks like.

http://www.andriasang.com/e/blog/2011/01/25/ps_meeting_time/

I hope that's not what it looks like. It looks like the GO :/

That might have been the design at some point but rumor has it that they decided to ditch the slide because they don't want people to associate it with the Go.

Yoda.  I love your pictures.  Not so much you, but the pictures you choose to represent forum-you.

Yaaay, new system.  If they announce a PS4, I quit gaming.

No UMD support?  Uh-oh for me then.  I rather have a physical copy of my games instead of having digitalized ones.

The PSP2 has great features but where the hell are the games? Most of the conference was ports and remakes.

I swear that some RPG fan members last year mentioned this would happen

I'm still more interested in the 3DS.

In fact, I'll wait until Kojima Productions, Atlus, Capcom and Square Enix announces their games to get really interested. And hell! We still got a couple of good games to enjoy on the PSP for some time, there's no need to buy this thing day 1 IMO. There's no denying though that this year E3 is going to be pretty interesting.

By the way, the Uncharted game that they showed was a port or what?

They're using flash cards instead of UMDs.

Also, these are some of the games (or demos) shown (I was out so I only know a few):
Yakuza of the End
MGS4
Call of Duty
Monster Hunter Portable 3rd
Uncharted
LBP
Dynasty Warriors
Killzone

Potential developers:
Nihon Falcom
Square Enix
Level 5

Using UMDs would be completely moronic at this point.  The capacity of a UMD is pretty limited by modern standards.  Maybe they could have tried to make a whole new UMD-like optical drive with blu-ray densities, but flash cards just make more sense for a portable system.

As far as game announcements go, the system is still pretty far from its release date.  I wouldn't worry too much.  I would worry about getting a bunch of ports and not many original games, though...especially with all the talk about how easy it was to port PS3 games to it.

The Uncharted game, at least, was supposed to be an original entry in the franchise.
