If its cheaper than the 3DS, FUCK Nintendo

You know that's improbable.

Costing only $50 more on the other hand...

$300 would be the same as a PS3 though, man that is a difficult sell. Even cheaper if the PS3 has a price drop this yaer. I Honestly feel like I would be getting a good value paying $250 for this system, as opposed to getting reamed by paying that much for the 3DS.

Plus the games lineup looks great too. Imagine if they set it up so it could play your PSN library *swoon*

There's no way that thing is cheaper or even the same price as the 3DS.

Besides graphical power, I don't see what everyone is so excited about.

And, yeah, there's no way this is going to be cheaper than the 3DS.

It's a newly announced piece of tech!

We'll see if the excitement's still there in a month or two.

Yeah, I'm going to have to join Fadedsun.  The developers list on Siloconera is interesting... thus far it looks like it's heading the PSP path (more JP developers than NA/EU).  But who knows, it's seems like graphic prowess and net connection was a big draw for the X360/PS3...

The game lineup is kaka so far.

Front touch screen + rear pad + motion sensors could provide some unique gameplay experiences. Having a handheld capable of displaying visuals that rival those offered by current gen consoles doesn't hurt either. Unlike Uncharted, MGS4 seems to be a direct port and though you can tell that it doesn't look quite as good, those are obviously the same assests used in the PS3 version. If they manage to do a direct port of that game with only sacrificing a few visual effects and not some radical changes like reducing the scale of the more complex scenes or even changing some levels entirely, that should tell us what to expect.
Uncharted definitely seems to have visuals on par with the first PS3 game, so I guess we can at least expect visuals similar to those seen in the best games released during the PS3's early years. Now that I think about it, that's pretty much what the original PSP was to the PS2.

I don't see myself buying a new console in at least another 2 years, handheld or otherwise, but both the NGP and the 3DS have compelling arguements.

I'd happily pay $500 for it, but I seem to be in the minority there.  I mean, that's what I paid for my last smartphone (no contract) and this looks to be quite a bit more powerful than any smartphone.

From Kotaku:

In the game demo I played of upcoming NGP title Little Deviants, players use the rear touchpad to manipulate cute balls around a lush cartoon landscape. But by pressing on the rear touchpad, it appears as though players' fingers stick up underneath the terrain, altering the landscape.
So by moving one's fingers around, the landscape changes as new mountains are formed. But, if players stop touching the rear touchpad, the landscape returns to normal.

You can see this in the video, I think it's pretty cool.

The 3DS is $250. No way in hell is the NGP cheaper. I'd be surprised if it was even the same price.

My guess is 400 at least.

$400 would be stupid and fucking suicide at retail. People are not going to pay that much for a console. $300 should be the max they sell it for.

I'm guessing 350 for a regular PSP2 model and 400 for a 3G model.

If it has certain games like Persona or Metal Gear Solid during launch,I might just pick it up
