I didn't see a topic for this so here is one. I saw the review for this title and it sounds promising for the most part. I own the original Ys: The Vanished Omens for the Sega Master System and while dated I still like it so I'm curious to hear more opinions on this game. Also, how is the soundtrack?

Yeah, that topic was less than a month old and better titled for a primary thread.

Got it! And had some embarassing deaths with lots of progress lost. I also missed a way to save a lot of money earlier on that the first page of the guide highlights, I recommend checking it out so as to not waste too much time grinding.

I will definitely be getting this eventually. I just want to get through the other Ys games first.
Bump and grind, baby!

That's why they released that house music collection "Provincialism Ys," right? To help you get your bump and grind on with Adol's help. :)

I'm still waiting for mine to come in the mail from Amazon.  I'm planning to start on hard mode since I beat I&II for DS before (and I thought Ys II was a lot easier than Ys I).  Hopefully I'll be able to handle it lol.

I have that! There's some weird stuff in there, but I actually like some of it, too.

I'm gonna pick this up some time later, can't afford it right now. For anyone who's played the original Turbografx CD versions, would you say that the new, PSP-exclusive soundtrack is comparable to the Turbo CD versions?

The game came two days in EU after the North American launch, on PSN that is. Bless who ever made that happen.

I'm one of the people who are more interested in Ys: The Oath in Felghana than Ys 7. I totally forgot that I&II Chronicles were coming and wasn't sure what to expect, read the review here and decided to get it since it's the definitive version and both games are fairly short. I'm also very intrigued by the original battle system, I have no idea what to expect! And talking with monsters sounds like such a cool idea.

Will play it both with Tactics Ogre after completing Valkyria Chronicles 2, which should be finished by tomorrow. And that means me accidentally playing Ys games in chronological order since I've only tried Oath and haven't put time on it yet.

Well I got mine but I've not played it much yet.  I wish you could change the artwork any time during the game instead of having to choose between Chronicles or Complete when starting a file.

I played 1 & 2 on the VC(which I think was the Turbo CD version?), and I can say Chronicles is quite a bit harder.

Takes longer to level up for sure, and the world is much larger. The area that was one town in Ys vanilla is TWO in Chronicles.

The music is fan.tas.tic. Can not stress that enough.
