The rush you get from defeating a boss never gets old. Just defeated one with only a sliver of health left and my heart was almost jumping out of my mouth lol.

I just have the platinum of Uncharted 2 but that appears with 95% combined with the multiplayer trophies, the only game I have at 100% is Flower but it doesn't give you a platinum trophy for some reason.
But yeah, I really like unlocking these things if they are fun but the majority of achievements/trophies are about "do the same thing more than 10 times" or worse. What's the point? I'm never going to get the platinum in Demon's Souls for example for how much work it takes to get two stupid rings with the character tendency stuff, and don't forget that the game also has a world tendency system on top of it.
The idea of giving you a virtual/fake prize for doing something in a game is really bizarre really. Some developers have said in interviews that when they want to create a immersive experience there's always the problem with the achievements/trophies that pop-up out of nowhere and reminds you that you are playing a game ruining everything in the process.
Sometimes it works for some titles but most of the time is just a distraction and a really useless feature.

Small PSN games don't have platinum.

Haven`t had any PvP in the past two days thanks to Scamco not releasing the patch here. Almost all the players I sparred against in PvP were from Japan and now that the Japanese playerbase has been cut off from the rest of the world... well.

And when did that happen? And why? The most fun I got from the online part of the game when was with Japanese gamers. There are some pretty decent players from around the world too but dividing the community like that is not cool.

Where are you trying to get fights at? I got the Reprisals I needed for the trophy by PVPing at the Kiln. It wasn't super active but it wasn't completely barren either. Judging from the sheer amount of messages and phantoms rolling around on the platform I would've had more matches just trying to normal invade. And this was post-Japan patch too.

When From released the patch in Japan and Scamco didn`t follow them in the rest of the world. Basically, the Japanese players now have a different version of the game, hence why we can`t play with them anymore. What`s even worse is that there`s word that From`s prepping a new patch(1.05) to iron out some online issues. If that happens we`ll be two patches behind the Japanese.

I was trying in Anor Londo. Before the patch came out I had been getting tons of PvP there. After the patch it was a barren land for me. Have been camping in Duke`s Archives for the past three hours and I`ve had more success there for some reason - got invaded about five times. After I`m done with Crystal cave, I`ll be moving to Kiln too. It`s always livelier there.

I went to test my greatsword of artorias in the graveyard at firelink.... I got parried during a heavy attack, and I fell through the world, to my death. I swear to god, my souls and humanity better be accessible when I get back...
edit: I got my souls back at the location I fell through the world. It was funny, 9 year old said "You were wearing your ring! (of artorias)" so I shouldn't have fallen through the void. Smartypants.

More likely that's the patch we'll receive period, Microsoft I believe wants all known (fixable?) issues addressed in a patch, so they might just skip straight to 1.05 for the US. It's a relatively minor thing and probably not worth excluding a ton of people from the game for, but it's kind of an example of why I kinda wish more games would be exclusive, just so they only go through one company's crap.

Wow, yeah. This is Bandai-Namco's fault? They are tight with Microsoft or something?
I want to see numbers of Xbox360 sales versus PS3 sales now. I'm mad right now though.... mad curious!

Being tight or not probably doesn't really matter much if Microsoft has a policy of "update our game at the same time as on PS3", and if Microsoft
DOESN'T
have that policy then it's a matter of not wanting to piss off the people on the 360. Even if Microsoft doesn't care about the issues that cropped up too much though it does sound like they have a more rigorous testing process which would delay the patch if they wanted a simultaneous release anyway. Given the issues this patch may've raised I admittedly can't fault them too much for that.

I know the 360 isn't popular in Japan, but surely more than 0 copies of Dark Souls 360 were sold there... ?
Are the patch notes we've seen for PS3 only, in Japan?

Unless you count imports, no, it literally is 0: the game is PS3-exclusive in Japan.

It all becomes clear. Thank you.
More than ever, I want to see that this shit was worth it... 360 vs PS3 sales. Established fanbase vs established console base... ngh!
My first red eye orb invasion ended in host suicide/failure... I never saw them once... but I got almost 700k souls as a reward.
I just saw someones ghost using the dragonhead exploit at firelink shrine. Hilarious.

I am playing Demon's Souls to keep up with a backwards friend. Wow, Demon's Souls is the better game. Everything looks better, and the world is alive. P2P was a fatal flaw in Dark Souls. I'd pay a subscription fee for this sense of community.
Eff.

According to data published by VG Chartz, North American sales of Dark Souls for it’s launch week broke the 250k mark. PS3 sales of the challenging action rpg lead the way with 166,526 copies sold since launch followed by the 360 version moving 89,922 copies.
