I did it with only a Gravelord Greatsword and no shield my first time and I have to say it's definitely more fun that way. You'll learn to recognize his openings after a while. Shield makes it a lot easier, though.

If anyone is on the fence for the PC version, it's $20 on Amazon right now (game code, redeem via Steam).

You would be insane not to buy this game at $20 (unless you hate it). And if you hate it, WHAT THE HELL.

Well that's not very funny for the players that tried to figure out if the Pendant was good for something. For months.

At least Snuggly gives you a Souvenir of Reprisal for the Pendant, which I remember is useful for one Covenant. That's the only use of that item.

I THINK you can get another. I could be wrong, but I'm pretty sure you can.

You can buy another one from Laurentis (sp?) after you rescue him from The Depths. That's how every other class can get the flame. Just fire up a NG+ after you beat it to buy it again if you have to.
Just made the Artorias Shield for the first time. WHY WASN'T I USING THIS BESTIAL SHIELD?!!!

Haven't bought the DLC yet. Not sure I want to at the moment. But I did just finish a run through of a NG+. The game was much more fun on a NG+. Not only did I finish the game in less than 20 hours, but enemies died much faster. Overall a more enjoyable experience the second time around.

Trying to invade someones game isn't fun when you get thrown into a session where the dude has two other people summoned. Ridiculous.
