I've never seen before so many textures loading in a game like I've seen in this beta.

The lighting effects are incredible. All the little details like the flashlights in the tunnels, or the way the laser pointers on guns make your screen flash red, etc.

So did anyone actually get this yet? It looks great but I haven't got the time or money to get it at this moment. (Oh but how I want it...) First tweets I saw said that it's glitchy, but pretty good.

USA reviews are positive from what I've seen, but Eurogamer dogs on the single player.
I'll probably wait until it's on sale b/c I have enough to play right now and I want to get MW3. As much as I enjoy the differences between MW and BF I want to wait, and I also like the run and gunning approach in MW.

Agree with that... I know CoD gets a ton of hate but I love running and gunning. Battlefield's MP sounding more team-based is appealing though, CoD's MP can wear quickly with people only caring about their KDRs and killstreaks.
I like the idea of MW3 changing killstreaks to point streaks though, and I wonder if the strike packages might encourage a *bit* more 'team' mindset. ...Likely not. :P

Got it and played it a bit, campaign is ok but too similar to blops which I didn't like. Now as for MP, a few bugs remain from the Beta. IDK guys, it's ,,,, ok

I like the production values of Battlefield 3 but honestly everything else I find it boring... I rather waste my money on Batman. That's just me though.

So the servers are still down from last night apparently. At least for the 360.
I swear, botched game releases are the new black.

Maybe they released it here a day early before prospective buyers could read the not so positive feedback from the states, the most heinous being that xbox s 4gb owners can't install the textures on their 4g or flash. Anyway, finished campaign and hard is not very hard, I guess allot of effort was put in but my money should have been on Skyrim

I'm only interested in checking out the campaign for the technical aspect. I'll try it out when it's dirt cheap.
Dice did a great job with the console versions:
http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/digitalfoundry-face-off-battlefield-3
You might want to go with the PS3 version if you have the choice. You wont have to switch discs when changing between SP and MP and if you don't have a hard drive you wont be able to install, which will give you a significant downgrade in visuals. Technically both versions are pretty much identical, PS3 does have slightly better AA and shadows though.

Picked this game up last week. Was ready to sell it after a few hours, but once I figured out what the hell to do, it is a lot more fun.
There is no hard copy manual, and the electronic manual they give you basically tells you nothing at all.
If you're new to this series you'll probably not understand a lot about the finer strategy points, which this game requires unlike CoD.
Haven't bothered much with the helicopters or jets, but it's quite fun to take the tanks around and run over barriers and blow up buildings.
