Read that review earlier. Got me excited to play it.
I still plan on playing Xeno first. I just see it as breaking up 2 western style rpgs with a jrpg in the middle. Doesn't this game play very much like a Bioware game? This is not a bad thing, but I'd rather not play 2 similar games in a row. I'm just weird like that.

I don't know enough to compare it to anything but from what i've heard:
Challenging combat, at least enough to keep you sharp
excellent story with branching story paths

From what I heard, some time ago:
"The best BioWare game not made by BioWare."

This is pretty much 100% accurate.
For you guys playing the game for the first time, please keep in mind that anything in this game can and will kill you if you don't fight smart. Don't just charge in like a dumb fuck and start wailing. :P

Seriously. Running around i've died, or came close to dying, to spiders numerous times.
I'm also glad they hit Quen with a giant nerf-bat. It was too strong before. Now it seems in-line with what it should be - even if it is weaker.

I'm honestly dumb-founded that they gave away the enhanced version content to people who already had the regular version of Witcher 2, for
free
. I never expected that considering they shipped out new PC versions with the enhanced content to sell.
CD projekt is beyond awesome. I might buy the 360 version just to show some more love (and to play it on a bigger screen).

If you followed the original you'd know this was to be expected.

Yeah, but that was in 2008. DLC and extras have changed a lot since then.

I dunno, that was after they became a big thing. However, they'd been offering DLC for the Witcher 2 in patches, SAYING it'd always be free (I believe), so this is the logical conclusion. We're not going to see future DLC for free on Xbox though, but that's Microsoft's fault.

We may not see free DLC on the 360, but CD Projekt will likely keep it affordable at least.
I love the game so far. The tutorial was VERY detailed, and I uh... am not sure how people got through the original version of Witcher 2 without a tutorial. Seriously. The game recommended I go on Easy, but after an hour or two I haven't died yet and if this keeps up I'm going back on Normal.
Also there's a Witcher interactive comic on iOS that came out today. Not surprisingly, it's free. :P

Gameplay isn't like a Bioware game, but the game structure IS. It's similar to if something like KotOR or DA:O decided to force you to visit hubs in a specific order for a stronger, less MacGuffin fueled plot, but still retained the basic structure (main quests, and several sidequests alongside said mainquest, mainly being of a narrative nature.)

I haven't played it yet. Old Yodes is in a funk equal in shitty-ness to the state of Ohio.
Anyone have the Dork Edition? Is it me or does that thing smell really bad? Like all the poisonous chemicals in Jiangsu province.

Witcher 2 could help you outta that funk.
I like how Ashton's mentioned in his review about the morality choices. There's a gray side and then there's another gray side. I like that. Nothing wrong with Light/Dark or Paragon/Renegade, but this removes the ability to pick something only for the sake of good/bad and really leaves choice up to the individual instead of some stat.
