I played this great ps1 game back in the day, it's more akin to a modern day tower defense sort of game than a strategy title so I'm having trouble looking it up.
The basics are you were one of a few teams on a map and your goal was to take over various bases or checkpoints on the map. And from those bases you could send more automated robot attackers out to the next base, killing the enemies, etc. From what I remember I think they followed pretty strict paths, but there were turns, ramps, and different levels in the maps.
Anyone remember anything like this?
It was played from a semi-top down view.

Sadly that's not it. It wasn't a cute game, the lighting had a very "psygnosis" feel and the soldiers you sent out were like battle robots on tracks or wheels.

Is it Future Cop: LAPD? The single player was a standard 3/4 view type action game but the multi-player had a competitive mode very similar to a tower defense game. One of I believe 3 ps1 games I still own, the others being Bushido Blade 2 and Colony Wars
