Is a good idea to get Assassin's Creed: Revelations without ever playing the other ones? Last year I don't know how many times I heard in the Bombcast that it wasn't clever thing to do before II and Brotherhood.

The series is too story heavy?

It's a bad idea, and yes, they're very story heavy. Revelations and Brotherhood are direct sequels to ACII featuring the same protagonist, and you'd be missing out on two excellent games which you can probably pick up for very cheap now anyway. The only one that anyone should consider skipping is the first, since the repetition isn't for everyone, though I still enjoyed it in spite of how formulaic it was. Whatever you do, make sure to play ACII, the events of the sequels won't mean anything without playing it beforehand.

I bought Fable 3, should have read a few reviews before hand. Please tell me it get's better

I hope you didn't pay much because I would have gladly given you my copy for $10.

Other video game haps:

I realized I've started a couple games in the past but never finished (some I've previously beaten others I have not).  I made a list and am going to attempt to whittle it down before I buy the Witcher 2 or Kingdom of Amalur.  Been playing Tactics Ogre PSP again.  Got to the
Code:
Ozma
recruit map and the enemies levels skyrocketed from 17 to 22.  Don't know what to do because some of my best DDs are doing 1/3rd damage of what they normally can do.

Don't jump.

I kinda don't want to go through two games but if it is story heavy then I have not much of a choice.

Though, what about ACII: Discovery for the DS I've been seeing in Wikipedia? It seems to be part of the story aswell.

Why are you so dead set on playing Revelations though? The general consensus is that it's the weakest of the games, excluding the original. Just try ACII.

He seams to be intrigued by story more than anything and from what I hear the events in Rev finally give some closure.

Definitely play II and Brotherhood first. You get a better idea of Ezio's whole story rather than just 1/3 of it. II is the best game anyway especially story wise, while Brotherhood's gameplay gets tweaked for the better, but the story isn't as strong. I haven't played Revelations yet but I imagine it's hella confusing without playing the others.

999.

I'm using an "Ending Flowchart" FAQ for so I can make the most of the endings.
Got a "bad end"....and how!!

Poor Snake and all... but Fucking Clover went nuts with a goddamned axe!!  I'm sad it ended as soon as Junpei was gone, I would have loved to see what happened to Lo and Ace.

Awesome you can fast forward text in NG+. x(

I get setting the atmosphere of a scene, but some of the emotional chatter goes on way too long.

Welp, ACII it is I guess. Wasn't that AC with a lame final boss by the way? :p I remember seeing something like that when it was released, I might be wrong though.

It was kinda lame, but it did little to turn me off from the game. It's still the best place to start if you're going to skip AC1 anyway.

Dice, I think you needed a bad ending anyway before you can get a 'good' one. I played 999 five times, and you get new info each time, so it was fun rather than repetitive.

I've been... too busy to play shit. In ME2 there's just the Reaper IFF, 3 loyalty missions, and the suicide mission. Oh and Arrival. And I'm already at 39 hours. The hell?

I did play all the other DLC though...

My advice is to back up your save on AC2. I lost two save files, one w/ about 10 hours of play and one with about 30. I play on 360 but it might have more to do w/ the game. Just a cautionary tale

anyone notice the shades in DA2 look like the D&D equivalent of Geth, at least in the head? I can't find a good screen grab of a shade but it's a fucking Geth

I'm currently playing Space Marine.  It feels good to play an action game without a cover mechanic; feels like I haven't done so in an age.  No pussy ducking and popping out to fire a shot or two, just killing the fuck out of everything with a big machine gun and a bigger axe.  For the fucking Emperor. \m/

I enjoy Space Marine.  Specifically the, "Do you need more health?  KILL MORE FUCKING DUDES!" mechanic.

First paragon ending in any Mass Effect game ever for me. She's still a renegade, but I already saved the Collector Base once, it needed to blow up this time. ;)
