Skyward Sword. finished the Ancient Cistern. The boss took me a few tries to beat, but it was pretty easy once I figured out the pattern.
Did the ultra-annoying Silent realm task thingy, and I now have clawshots. Had to go to bed, so I didn't get a chance to play with them.

999.

'Nother ending.

Wwoooow.... Way to make my jaw drop a bunch of times!!  I got what is called the "Safe" ending (ironically titled?).  Lots of screws thrown around, and definitely big mysteries keep getting caked on.

Quote
Man, Snake took 6 fucking bullets, Ace's "true colours" freaked me out with his new and creepy evil-look, Akane disappears, but I think the best was the final farewell from Zero stating that it was s/he that lost.

I'm catching on when to get suspicious about peeps.

Brutal stuff... I want more.  But maaaan... I hate reading faster than the text scrolls through... I catch myself just repeatedly pressing "A", "A", "A" to get alone with it.  A *bit* faster would have been swell...

Been a wee while since I played 999, but I thought there was a way to go through text you have already ready from previous playthroughs quicker?

Or are you just talking about in general? :P

Demon's Souls - Wow. Words cannot express how much I hate this fucking overrated piece of shit. No way to pause the game other than quitting, no music during 99.9% of the game, no automaps, virtually no story, forced repetition if you die, generic graphics, blah, blah, blah. If I were an emperor, I would order this game's developers to be executed by shoving copies of this shitty title up their asses.

Valkyria Chronicles II - A fuck of a lot better than Demon's Shit, I mean, Souls.

Disgaea: Afternoon of Darkness - Has been basically one big grindfest for me in Etna Mode, but still a fuck of a lot better than Demon's Souls.

Radiant Historia - See above comments, probably the best time-travel RPG since Chrono Trigger.

Various Cell Phone Games, among them being Temple Run - I would play these over Demon's Souls anyday.

Go ahead, ban me, I dare you.

I think that maybe, just maybe, Demon's Souls isn't the game for you.

As for me, I woke up this morning in the mood for some Jade Empire.  I'm gonna split my time between it and Space Marine, starting...now. :P

Demon's Souls is really more an experience than a regular video game and actually the story that it has is pretty dark. But like D-Rider said, is not for you.

Though I totally understand your situation in investing time in something that you put your own money and hoped to enjoy.

I played a bit of FFVI today just for kicks. Washed up on the Veldt and recruited Gau into the party. I'm surprised I can remember every single hidden chest and area in the game after all these years. Other than that I checked out the demos for Twisted Metal and Syndicate and found them both very good.

I find it more frustrating the fact you keep acting like ENTERTAINMENT you don't enjoy has no right to exist, not even with a rationale beyond "I didn't enjoy it", and no one else is allowed to like it as a result. Like everyone said, if it's not for you it's not for you, I don't want sports games to vanish just because I don't enjoy them, at most I simply wish a game or series had less influence than it did, like Call of Duty. Enjoyed MW1, and even MW2 was kind of a "dumb action movie" sort of enjoyable, but I hate how grotesquely popular it is and (more importantly) its effects on game/FPS design in general. Demon's Souls, for better or worse, has yet to have a serious impact beyond, say, the Witcher 2 ADDING an extra difficulty setting.

I'm liking FFXIII-2 despite the dumb story (I've seen someone liken it to a fever dream on another forum I go to, I feel like that probably IS the best approach to it), but hearing the NORMAL chocobo theme made me think of FFVI, and now I want to play that instead. Probably an example of why clinging to nostalgia too much is not inherently in the best interest of a long running series!

One of the games I wish I have never bought and play were RE: Code Veronica X. What a waste of time that was... I wish that game never existed, but it does and it sucks but what can I do about it? Not much really since I finished the whole thing because I pay for it. At least that game show me that I never really liked survival horror games and Resident Evil as I thought.

Anyway, did a little bit of the demo of Syndicate last night and is not bad.

Actually Code Veronica cost me like 40 bucks since in those days I was stupid enough to force my poor mother and one of my sisters to buy me a PS2 and a GameCube for really stupid reasons, and I got both consoles when they were pretty much obsolete. To this day I feel bad for doing that instead of waiting like a good kid for a PS3 and be happy with that.

Though, I enjoyed games like Persona 3 FES, Dragon Quest VIII and FFX-2 on PS2 and Wind Waker with Killer7 on the Cube so not everything was bad. Still, I bought around 20 games for boht systems that just today I'm gonna sell.

I don't even care that much how money the guy gives me, I just wanna get rid of this shit because it brings me bad memories...

Now, now... even a $10 purchase isn't worth it if it's not worth the money.
I bought me $200 shoes, but they feel and look brilliant.  Not a penny of regret. :D

Live and learn otherwise.

I started playing Jade Empire last night.  I had trouble deciding what to name my character, so I cycled through the name generator for inspiration...and it came.  Sweaty Wang is gonna end up being the biggest dick to ever fuck over fantasy China.

When I say started, I mean it literally.  I haven't even left Two Rivers yet. :P

Oh, this is sorta late since I skimmed the post last time, but...

Demon's Souls is really more an experience than a regular video game and actually the story that it has is pretty dark.

I don't get this statement at all. Maybe it has to do with my definition of what would be more "experience" than game, but Demon's Souls and Dark Souls are damn near at the opposite end of the spectrum of that. Heavy Rain, Deadly Premonition, NieR, Epic Mickey, El Shaddai, Child of Eden, most point and click adventures, every visual novel... those are what I'd consider "experiences" in that it's more they're focused on telling a story or delivering an audio/visual work through gameplay rather than being all about the gameplay like Demon's Souls is.

But then I think I've found half of your statements about the games to be "wrong", so whatever.

Wasting time in FFXIII-2, getting decent monsters and stuff. Makes me wish this were more like Pokemon or MegaTen where I could actively try to recruit a monster rather than just randomly getting it at the end of battle like DQV.

Well yeah I change my opinions about about certain games like three times a day and end up saying random stuff sometimes but whatever. :)

One thing though, for me at least Demon's Souls was an experience and it was the same thing for probably other people aswell since it was the first time they/we saw a game in that style, so... dunno. To each his own I guess?

After all, not everyone enjoys video games the same way (if that makes any sense).
