Popped Xenoblade in. I had played it for an hour or so when I first got it(April?) and haven't touched it since. I've just been daunted by the time requirement. Anyway, I said screw it, and am now playing. It took me a little while to get used to it all again.
Is there really no manual attack for battles? I was looking for it in the menus, but saw no "manual" option anywhere.
The game has such a great "feel" to it. Great music, too. We'll see how far I get into it.

No. Nor does it need it since most of your combat time will be playing around with Arts and Chain Combos. If anything Auto Attacks makes things easier since it means that you don't have to worry about wasting time or efficiency when picking out Arts to use.

Same here. I played through the demo a few times. It was fast paced and exciting, but there was just so much going on. The whole sliding thing was cool, but I couldn't get the hang of it. I imagine a more hardcore "expert" gamer would love the hell out of it, though.

Lard: I rather liked LOK: Defiance when I played it. But I loved the heck out of all those games. I miss Raziel and Kain.

I don't consider myself an expert by any means, especially when it comes to shooters, but I got the hang of Vanquished pretty quickly. I highly recommend turning the difficulty down and working your way up, though.

I think I played the 1st level and got the gist of it...came back a few weeks later and was overwhelmed. I'll start over in the next batch of games I play I think.
