So in order to give Ni No Kuni my (somewhat) undivided attention I decided to finish Uncharted 3 today, and I stand by my original impression, I seriously believe 2 was better. Played a bit of Shift 2 and played many hours of Devil Summoner 2 today, gonna see how far I can get before Ni No Kuni gets here, lol

ETS2 - Managed to park entirely in first person. Woot. Also I get a massive FPS boost if I run in 1024 x 768 and the game actually does this 16:9 letterboxing thing if you do that so it doesn't look awful.
But about that. While there's a loss in detail from going lower res, the... smaller screen space actually makes it easier for me to notice all of the little details in the world. And it's really detailed. And very alive feeling. Even if the world isn't necessarily dynamic, there's a lot of... non-road vehicle traffic going on. Combines in fields, airplanes, trains, little constructiony worker dudes. Even though you're confined to the roads, it really gives me the same kind of explorationy bliss I got from, idk, Aquanaut's Holiday or Yume Nikki.
I'm really getting a directly emotional sort of response from this game -- moreso than I've gotten from other games in a long time -- and it's a damn truck driving simulator. What the hell?

Uncharted 2
is
better, but all things considered 3 is still a good time. I've put a lot of time in the multiplayer of that game since is nice to pick up and play in co-op.

Creeping slowly on my Kotor2 game. I'm 2½ planets down on 4.
Up to now I think I've noticed 2 quests that were not there before the restoration mod. There's also way many more encounters with the HK droids, which is pretty nice since they always give good xp and incredible droid loot.

To the people that have finished DQIX: is it necessary to grind out lots of different vocations in order to beat the game? Could I beat the game using only the original six classes that are offered?
Answer
: Don't play DQ, there's so many better games.
Started up Trails in the Sky for a lark....

Don't worry, I play the good games too. I actually like the Dragon Quest games, though. I've been playing them since the beginning with Dragon Warrior on NES. I don't want to do any grinding, however. I'm too old for that shit!
After this it's Etrian Odyssey IV, Fire Emblem Awakening and Soul Hackers. I love my 3DS.

You don't really need to grind in any of the DQ games except the first two. Maybe the original version of 3. Not the GBC remake of it though.

You need tons of grind in the original DQ3, but only for the last boss. Crazy hard/long boss.
Then again... how old was I back then? Maybe I just sucked bad.

Ni No Kuni isn't getting much of a look in from me for a while. I got it before Fire Emblem but now that I've finished that I am going to be playing Etrian Odyssey IV and after THAT is done I have Atelier Ayesha to play.
It's been a great couple of months.

Yoda the first part of planescape is kind of the worst btw.
Also keep a lot of backup saves for experimenting.
Also make sure you're playing with the fanmod that re-adds all the cut content. I think gog.com refers to it on the store page.
