Mortal Kombat

Anyone try the demo?

I played it briefly and I enjoyed it greatly. I'm not fighting game expert so the more deliberate pace is for me and I fucking love the closeups w/ the xray type view, showing the bones breaking and organs getting smashed.

I never have been a fan of MK though, when I was a kid I was street fighter all the way. But I'll probably pick this up.

I wish to hell I could afford the awesome edition w/ the sweet arcade stick

I had to sell my PS3 ages ago to pay the rent ;_; so we just have an Xbox and that doesn't have the demo.

I am really psyched about this game though as i've watched tonnes of footage and it looks like it could be really fun. Sindel hair-tossing action!

Sindel, because she is worth it!

You are one sick bastard.

I haven't tried the demo yet. I played the hell out of those games in the 16 bit days, specially ultimate mortal kombat 3.
Currently playing: Uncharted 3, Dark Souls, Team ICO Collection, Atelier Totori, Child of eden.

Game looks great so far, since Mortal Kombat: Deadly Alliance that I haven't played a new Mortal Kombat. I still need to see more before deciding if buying it or not.

I haven't had a chance to play the demo but so far everything about this game excites me. I can't really afford the crazy version but there's the possibility I may splurge.

Kratos trailer:

Wicked!

Lmao, even in a fighting game he still has quicktime events.

Also, boo Kratos. (Thats from the boyfriend's Xbox point of view, I have nothing against him.)

its hard for me to imagine this series making a comeback since it always relied on gimmicks. can you explain hyow it made a comeback?

There's been a steady release of MK games since it's original release, every 1-3 years, MK has lost mindshare but typically the games have always sold well, even the ones that weren't great. With this release it will definitely jump out again and be back in the minds of gamers, I'm not sure it's technically a comeback because of that. Still, the release of this game makes me happy, normally I'm not excited at the thought of a game release but I definitely am for this one.

the problem i've always had with mk games is once you see all the fatalities they become boring. the last game i would even call decent outside shaolin monks is ultimate mk3. i read a quote somewheere were the developer says they want to make this new mk a tournament level fighter. all i can say is good luck!

It's going to be at Evo this year so it's already made the tournament level, I suppose the bigger view is if it's still there next year.

I wanted to try the demo, but it wouldn't download for some stupid reason.
