If you're trying to win somebody into a *completely* opposite genre, bad choice of song to do it with, there are way more subtler tunes to start with haha
I'm kinda all over the board music wise. I'm surprised no one's posted Dream Theatre actually.
A) Why be subtle when you can make a lasting first impression!
B) Dream Theatre haven't been good since their second album.

I went to one of Mike Portnoy's drum clinics once and got him to sign one of my sticks.
In my opinion Dream theater isn't a band anymore, it's a bunch of really talented musicians playing at the same time.
Honestly, In Flames kinda got me into metal. They have an emphasis on melody that makes them easier to approach I think. Classic Metallica also works.
I think the 16 bit era had the best games.
I thought this topic had a dumb title, so I only just decided to look at it and figured, what the hell.
I actually find myself really liking older bands now, like Zepplin, Pink Floyd, The Who. That stuff.
