Muramasa is in my top five games of this gen. It just struck a chord with me. I have high hopes for this. I really need to go back and play Odin Sphere when I have time.

This game is looking to turn out gorgeous as all of their games.
Muramasa I kind of stopped about 3 hours in but I'll get back to it someday.
GrimGrimoire I only played the tutorials, liked it a lot, and for whatever reason didn't play more. I think I wasn't in a strategic mood at the time. I just wish I had some time to play it these days or they could release it for the PSP or NGP.

The most interesting thing about the update is that you get to create your own character.

I'm actually hoping it's more GrimGrimoire-like that Odin Sphere or Muramasa-like.
It sounds like none of the above. It sounded more like a CRPG with some Strategy element to it in regards of what's going on in the world map. You get to form a troop of custom characters and it looks like you can bring a four man party to do battle.
Kinda like Ogre Battle but with more control over your characters during battle and stuff.

Never played Muramasa (what did I miss?)
Assuming you don't mind a minimalistic plot, I think you would like Muramasa. The art direction and music are excellent resulting in an extremely beautiful game, and combat is handled in a fluid and stylish manner. Excellent presentation, and quite fun.

There seems to be a trend of doing this in PSP games. I approve.

Bamping with more details.

Not much, but it does suggest something closer to DQIX than something else. Still also has the possibility of being like a cross between DQIX and Ogre Battle.
Also releases in JP in September (not counting the inevitable delays).
