Fear Effect Series: Who's played both games?

Fear Effect and Fear Effect 2:Retro Helix were some of the last great games for the Playstation era. It was basically a survival/action/horror game set in a cyberpunk futuristic setting that ended up getting into some creepy stuff dealing with the underworld and demons, etc. It was great because it implemented well thought out puzzles, multiple selection scenarios, and a unique cast of characters. Eidos was in the process of making a third one for the PS2 called Fear Effect: Inferno but unfortunately it was canceled.
Anyone else have fond memories of the games aside from me?

I played the first one back in the day. I thought it was great - there was no other game like it, in terms of visuals, on the PlayStation at the time as far I as now. I vaguely remember being slightly scared when playing the game, but I think I was just young!
I think I only booted the second game because a friend told me it had a lesbian sex scene in it. That's as far as I got, oddly enough. =)

I thought the games were pretty awesome. Really freaking hard, but that's probably because I really hate that type of control scheme (push up to move forward, push left/right to simply turn the character).

Twice for each game, on Hard no less(which is realllly difficult).
The first one has held up amazingly well. I love modern-occult themed games.
The second is good, the first is a classic. Shame about Inferno's cancellation. It was going to make FE1 look like a kid's game.

The previews for Fear Effect:Inferno looked so awesome and I was really looking forward to it. Apparently there are still ramblings about a current gen Fear Effect but it most likely won't be Inferno if it ever does happen.

Well, Square are in charge of Eidos now, which actually bodes well. They're nothing if not adept at digging up old franchises for profit.

I remember those games fondly as well. I'd totally grab them if they were put on the PSN. *wink*wink*nudge*nudge*

I played the first two and loved them. Also, I interviewed for Inferno before Kronos shut down(no wonder they never replied to me), they make iphone games now. I think the rights belong to SE though now. Wonder if they'll just sit on them.
