Divinity 2: The Dragon Knight Saga
« on: April 09, 2011, 04:32:52 PM »
I beat the original and am super stoked to get this next week! I played the demo a couple of weeks ago and pre ordered it that day!

Personally I am looking forward to the Expansion and the fix framerate. The frame rate just plain sucked in the original release and playing the demo proves that the engine received a much needed facelift.

Who else is as excited about this game release and what are you looking forward to most in the updated version?

It's out now.

I had no idea it was coming out so soon, I thought it was due out in May.  The only reason I know it's out is because Amazon sent me the "Now shipped" EMail.

I might pick this up over the summer to get me through to the big fall releases. This slipped under my radar for sure. It seems fun enough

Wait, isn't this the game that got released in an almost unplayable state and then graciously "fixed" and re-released for full price?

beats me. i found out about this by just looking at amazon and it came up for suggested titles. it's cheap, and reviews are decent.

I think the other one was too hard or some jive.

It was completely remade from the ground up along with it's expansion, iirc.

Hmmm, maybe I'm being a little harsh here. I did buy Ergo Draconis ages ago and remember it being a horrible mess. Fortunately it was on sale so I only felt a little ripped off. Improved or not, there's absolutely no way I'm buying the same game twice though. What I should do however, is do some patching. If they managed to fix some of the performance issues it may redeem Larian somewhat in my eyes.

The game was not remade from the ground up, they placed the game in a new engine and updated the graphics with some normal mapping. Its a lot of fun but not for people who liked to have their hand held throughout the game.

Thought I would point out that DKS also has an additional quest making for a total of over 100 hours of gameplay.
Its worth the money for the additonal quest alone as its very long.
