Persona 4 anime?

I wasn't expecting some award winning anime, so I'm happy with what was given to me. It's enjoyable to watch. Clearly designed with the fans in mind.

I really liked how they combined all those social links into a single story. I'm also surprised by how many new songs Meguro wrote for this. I already counted 5 new songs with Shihoko Hirata on vocals, plus the intrumental tracks.

Meguro is also producing LJ's new solo album which also features Kawamura as guest singer.
The Persona band has another show planned for April, it's great that they have so much new music to play. I'm glad they will record it for a dvd.

On the bad side; if this anime wasn't "If you played the game you'll understand this only" before it totally is now. As much as I loved the episode I have to admit it was rather...left field. It was rather out of place considering the nature of the four episodes before it and what episode 6 promises to be. Kinda a shame as I had hoped this series would be universally accessible.

Ah well.

That aside...totally loved it. They did a very nice job rolling together two social links and I can't wait until the Band gets a turn. XD (We saw Ayane; it's pretty much inevitable.) Although considering that they turned Ebi's clingy side up to 11 watching the nurse's social link is going to be...interesting.

After watching the newest episode I think I realize what Persona 4 The Animation is; it's an "Abridged" series done right.

Think about it; it's a fast summation of the plot events which points out the more comedic/awkward things within the game itself (the swim trunks, the "humor" dialog options the MC can take while controlled by the player, ect.) while also making it's own in-jokes (Aiya "anywhere" delivery; I get the feeling this isn't the last we've seen of a joke done with the new delivery girl NPC).

Unlike a normal Abridged series though it doesn't feel the need to make a joke out of everything. Which is why I say it's "done right".

I saw the first episode on Saturday with a friend. It was done really well and the liberties it took with the exact events are well done. I love that it managed to take the first 4 hours of the game and shorten it to 22 minutes and nothing felt left out.

Yeaaaah.... they hit the fruity-femme side of gay really, really hard.  I think the game tried to pass it off with more class, but I did like Kanji's revelation of liking "cutie stuff". x)

I always wondered what I thought about the relationship with him and Naoto... either a cope out for an actual homosexual relationship or cute because "he" turned out to be a "she".  Ah well.  Bring on next ep.  And the play.  That shit is whack...
