I'm really impressed with the game, it actually looks pretty amazing, speed highway and city escape have some jaw dropping moments.

When I played the first 2 levels with classic sonic all that nostalgia come to me making me feel young again.
I have played sonic 2 so many times that the cartrige glitched where i needed no longer to iput the code or get the emeralds for the yellow sonic.

Seeing the powerplant level almost made me cry of joy.
Sega says they have no intention to push forward the old sonic, but also they said they would look into it. I sure hope they do as I'm loving it!

Sega says they have no intention to push forward the old sonic, but also they said they would look into it.

So, that's a "Yes" and a "No"? Like, yeah in the 2000's we released a bunch of Sonic titles of questionable quality and now that we got our shit together with Generations we are not gonna do this again because bananas? :|

I don't understand the logic behind this. I do know that a lot of people liked Sonic Colors and... well what do I care about anyways. The only ones that buy Sonic games nowadays are annoying kids, weird obsessive people and old fans that grew up with the first three games and can't move on with their lives and I'm not in that audience.

So yeah. Sonic, you blue bastard.

In all fairness Sega has really failed to make many 2D Sonic games that have the smoothness of the controls the original five games had. The only exception to this I've experienced were the three Sonic Advance games on the GBA. Even Generations has some major hickups with the jumping controls. I played Sonic Gen and then they very next day popped in Sonic Mega Collection and played some of the original and Sonic 3 and I can understand the complains that group of fans have.

Makes you wonder how they could've perfected the 2D running/jumping mechanics over a decade ago yet still somehow manage to fail in replicating them in the current gen.

I agree. They're not bad; they're just not entirely comfortable if you're used to old school methods. The only thing that constantly throws me off is the jump height. SG's jumping height feels "low" to me; mostly due to being used to when Sonic would pretty much jump 2/5ths of the screen in height. XD On review I should've said "minor" instead of "major".

What a shitty final boss.

There were 2 lines during the ending cutscenes that were hilariously ironic:

Code:
Robotnik: Who are they?
Eggman: They're insignificant.

Modern sonic to classic sonic: Your future is full of great things.

LMAO!

Finally played this game... I think I suck at Sonic games.

Or lost my touch to say the least.  Not that I die a lot, but the controls aren't sticking to me.
I love the music though, maybe I'd do better playing if I stopped rocking out as I played.

I S-Ranked and got the full 1000/1000 for the game. Definitely my non-RPG Game of the Year.

Well, I get A's just fine (which is funny, I'd get shit marks yet do better in SA1 & 2)... I did watch these, so I guess that doesn't help my opinion of myself haha

Has anybody played it on 3DS? I'm tempted to get it for 3DS because these days, I find that I play platformers more on-the-go than on a home console. Unfortunately, I've heard a few people say that the 3DS version is not as good (no explanation) but I'm interested to hear what people think.

I suspect it's a different game entirely, but I haven't looked into it. That was the case with Sonic Colors on DS and Sonic Unleashed on Wii at least, so stick with 360/PS3 to be safe.

Wasn't 3DS version made for the same guys who did some of the Sonic games for the GBA? Can't remember. But my point is that there is people saying that is pretty good.

Other than that, I have no idea.
