This time with mid-20th century mystery-puzzle titles.
- Layton (the instigator)
- Dr. Lautrec and the Forgotten Knights (which kinda looks cool; but I am bias, Lautrec has a sick-ass 'stache)
- And now Namco Bandai's Treasure Report.
I don't know how i feel about this.... it is a blatant attempt to join in on the popularity of the series, and I love the blend of styles going into this (I love the mid 20th c. era), and I love the highly under-appreciated "mystery genre". But c'mon? Thinking about it though, I personally find Layton boring when it comes to it's core (some of the puzzles are ridiculously stupid logic, and it gets annoying where you catch every fucking townsfolk during their mid-daily crossword puzzle they can't goddamn figure out). I'm curious if these titles will take a more active approach in problem solving than simply pictures and A, B, C, D options.
I'm torn.
Thoughts?

Arent these completely different types of games that just share a similar setting?
Besides if you want to talk about what was original, Pokemon may not be the best example since it wasnt the original monster collecting game either. Infact, the biggest Pokemon clone is the next Pokemon game. Im no expert but to me it seems like its the exact same game over and over with new sprites thrown in.
