The complaints against me I always thought were so big and important just stopped mattering and melted away when I lost a girl with late-stage leukemia, and her parents, sobbing, asked me, "Why couldn't you save her?"
Once you get hit something like that, the small things in life really cease to bother you anymore - so my life has elevated from being a paranoid asshole with an insecurity complex to just asshole. I'm fairly certain things can only go up from here.
I can't imagine what it must be like to hear that from someone; but I suppose sometimes it takes something as traumatic as that to help you come to terms with yourself. Hope you 'level-up' from here on out, though at not so high a cost.

If you think 90% of music being made today sucks, you aren't looking hard enough.
That makes no sense. If you have to look hard then clearly you're not talking about the 90%. 90% of it sucking doesn't mean that there aren't good examples out there.
Besides, 90% of everything is crap (Sturgeon's Revelation).
Considering that it's impossible to be exposed to every band/artist/performer it makes perfect sense. The stuff you hear on the radio (both local and national) represents a fraction of what is out there. So no, I'm not referring to the other 10% of good examples out there. I'm referring to the fact that more music is available now than ever before, but if you just rely on radio and the music press you're missing out.

It's like Kay and Lazlowe opened some sort of Pandora's box.
Or Pandora's "Box" - if you will.
*sigh*
I'm so ashamed of myself.

You know, it's the damnedest thing. I couldn't find the key to Pandora's box anywhere. Good thing I had this speculum.
